My experience at the Nepalese Kitchen was incredible. After a 2.5 week excursion in Iceland, I was really craving some authentic homemade food made with care. Upon sitting down, the restaurant owner asked if we had any allergies. This was the first and only time I've been asked this in Iceland. I have a dairy and gluten allergy and it... More

I can always tell when the hands and hearts that have prepared my food care. I am left with a feeling of true nourishment. Love is the special ingredient.

The manager was v helpful with recommendations for food and wine. Food was good and tasty although one side dish served was incorrect and another side did not arrive until after our food was consumed. We were not charged for this. The meal, as with everything in Iceland, was expensive so I would recommend ordering fewer side dishes if you... More

We are here twice during our stay in Reykjavik. Both times I had the mixed vegetable curry which is suitable for vegans. It was the best curry I have ever tasted! My husband had chicken the first time, and although he said it tasted amazing, he only got 5 small pieces of chicken. The second time however he had paneer... More

I paid over 40$ for the lamb korma. I was looking forward to a rich, aromatic curry simmered with tender pieces of lamb. Instead the sauce was strangely textured and bland. It was not creamy or rich. The 4 small tough, chewy pieces of lamb were not tasty at all. It wasn't horrible, it was ok...but not delicious. For the... More

On my second day in Reykjavik, I thought I would give this place a try. The place was clean and the staff was friendly but the food was a different story. There were a lot to choose from the menu but I was by myself so I tried something simple. I ordered a couple of samosas and chicken biryani. The... More

Oddly, there are a lot of Asian cuisine restaurants in Reykjavik (it's harder to find an Icelandic restaurant). Of them all, Nepalese and Indian happen to be my favorite. I stopped in and perused the menu with my two friends. I ended up ordering kesar pilau* (pilau made with saffron). It was a beautiful pink color and once I added... More

My wife and I had a great dinner at Nepalese Kitchen as a switch from our normal foodie choices and were very glad we did. We shared an order of chicken tikka (perfectly cooked) with garlic naan and vegetable pahadiya masala curry. Both delicious. Those with a bottle of wine and a dinner tab of under $100 was a celebration... More

We stayed a few nights in the city and have to say were astonished by the cost of just about everything. Not least eating out. We ate at different places offering different types of cuisine and most of it bland at best but still very expensive. We found this on our last night looking for something a bit different. And... The restaurant is much larger than it first appears being on more than one floor. The staff are charming and the restaurant is clean. A good choice of dishes and many for vegetarians. We were asked how hot we wanted our curries. The only complaint is that there is too much liquid in the dishes.

We do our best to keep our unique tastes, and we certainly understand if it isn't to everyone's liking, since we each have our own taste in food, specially this kind of food, but we care really much for our guests, and are sorry that you left us without notifying us about you were not happy "with too much liquid",...
