We’ve been in this place two evenings in a row and both times we had a lovely meal. Vegan and chicken soups awesome and very tasty. Staff very friendly. Highly recommended!

We made the excellent decision to stop into this restaurant for dinner on our last night in Iceland. WOW!! The cob loaf soup was absolutely amazing. I ordered the lobster soup and my sister ordered the traditional lamb stew. We both thoroughly loved our meals....Value for money was superb- I enjoyed a whole lobster tail in my soup. Hearty, flavoursome, good service!More

We were staying in the Alda hotel just across the road from the cafe and had walked past it numerous times. On our last day we went in for meat soup in a bread bowl (when i say bread bowl it was more a round...loaf like a sourdough boule). In my humble opinion it was fantastic, our little boy really liked getting soup in a bowl that he could eat :) we also had a portion of chicken wings that were also nice. Staff were very friendly and service was good. Would i go again.....absolutely. I have classed it as cheap eats as it was the cheapest we paid on our trip for a meal for 3 including a beer each for the wife and myself, i can imagine there are cheaper places but we were only in Iceland for 3 days.More

we popped in for coffee the first time and were so impressed with the staff and restaurant standards, we went back for a meal. had the soup served in a roll, more like a small loaf of bread, and it was absolutely delicious. the staff...went out if their way to make us feel at home and give information on the menu.More

Good coffee and great service. It is only open at 10am though so if you are up and about before 10 you are out of luck.

We ordered two lobster soups. They were the best soups we had in our trip to Iceland! Service was great. Restaurant not very busy (for a Monday lunch time)

Quick service and good location when you are downtown shopping! I had the chicken nachos and they were delicious and a good lunch choice.

Ordered two drinks and two soups ( which are served in a hollowed-out loaf). Drinks came quickly. Soup took rather a long time (15 mins). This is odd, since presumably they have a big pot of soup and have already hollowed-out the loaves. Once it...arrived, it was very tasty and filling. Ideal for a quick lunch, if you don't mind the wait for the soup. Service was middling; polite but uninterested.More

Arrived in Reykjavik around lunchtime so checked in and then headed out for food. The cafe could be easily overlooked on a street with a plentiful supply of restaurants but you'll miss out on a gem. The soups are amazing. I had the lobster (on...2 occasions) as a return visit was a must and my partner the lamb. For dessert i had to try the "afforgato". Ice cream, a birch liquor and espresso coffee UNBELIEVABLE. Prices are on a par with other places. Give the cafe a visit. You won't be disappointedMore

We had both the meat and chicken soup in bread and found them hot and tasty and both had plenty of meat in them. They have a happy hour 5-7 and you can get a pint of viking lager for 650kr. Worth a visit if...you're passing.More

Visited to kill an hour before our flight and opted for the chicken soup in a bread bowl, like most things in reykjavik about double the price you’d pay for soup back home but can’t hold that against them. Soup hit the spot and the...server only too happy to give extra butter for the left over bowl. The place had an overall good feel to the place but nothing out of this world.More

Fantastic street food and lots of different beers to try. Very interesting decor inside the bar. Got our large bread bowl of soup and carried it next door to the bar to get a beer.
