How is Bastard Brew & Food rated?

Bastarð Brew & Food is situated at Vegamótastígur 4 in downtown Reykjavík. We offer a few of our own beers as well as dozen of beer from other breweries on draft and a good selection of bottled beer. We make ambitious craft cocktails where we do our own refreshing twists on classics like the Moscow Mule and Aperol Spritz. The kitchen is open from 11:45AM to 11PM every day. It has courses like flatbreads with a variety of different toppings, mini tacos, burgers, chicken Louisiana style, cheese and charcuterie platter and more. Happy hour from 4-7PM every day and DJ spins from 10PM Thursday to Saturday.

Food so good had to go right back!

First trip to Iceland, ended up here because my husband loves beer. I’m not really much of a fish eater but one bite of the catch of the day and I was hooked (sorry, bad pun). It was so delicious I made sure to schedule...in another visit before we left and the second time was just as delicious. Jealous that we don’t have access to such well prepared seafood at home, even though we live near the ocean. Highly recommended!More

Best fish in Reykjavik

Every restaurant in Iceland cooks fish well, but Bastard Brew & Food was another level. We went a few times and always got the pan fried fish of the day. Ling was our favorite fish, but Cod was also delicious. Vegetables, roasted potatoes , and...sauces were spot on. The beer was fine but this venue is about the food. Great spot!More

Avoid

Dreadful place!!! On our recent trip to Iceland the one thing that stood out, aside from the amazing countryside, was how friendly the people were, just so warm. As they say though, there's always 1!!! Well, 2 actually. It took ages to get served well...seated, despite there being spaces, then we got plonked at the bar as we were only having a drink, and the 2 guys serving just took ages to serve us, but they were blatantly being rude and arrogant and ignoring us. I asked about drinks and they really couldn't be bothered to be that helpful. We should have left, but we had one and departed. We'll be going to Reykjavik again, but will be avoiding this place, horrible!!!More

Great food, friendly environment

Highly recommend. Friendly staff, cool environment. Food was excellent. Got their fish of the day and chicken tacos. Both were outstanding!

Amazing place!!!Just visit and feel it !!!

Amazing kozy place for food and draft beer. Nachos and beef taco got the new meaning! Delisious and elegant served! And of course I had to mention the top service! The place you had to visit and feel atmosfere!!!

Quick service, great atmosphere

A vibrant, buzzy place to eat and drink. Menu for the burgers makes amusing reading. We had a variety of food, from burgers to hot Louisiana chicken, which tasted lovely and would recommend. One of our party had a chicken flatbread, which was not quite...what was expected and tasted really weird. We wouldn’t ever order this again. The beers were amazing, we had a taster rack, and then from this ordered the guest beer, Helga?, a raspberry sour.More

Great burgers, lively atmosphere

Lovely and worth a visit

A group of 10 of us ate here. They accommodated us easily especially as it was really busy. The food is expensive, but Iceland is! However it is large portions and delicious and beautifully served.

Give the bastard a go you won’t regret it

Went here for our evening meal based on reviews here and Facebook and it didn’t disappoint. I’d recommend booking, we had a short wait for a table but that was ok as we just got a drink at the bar. Lots of choice on the...menu, my niece got chicken strips and fries and said it was the best chicken strips she’s had with the bbq sauce, I had the duck tacos which were really good and we shared a fajita flat bread. All the food was tasty and the staff were great.More

Great spot amazing food and drink

Was very impressed with the deep fried cauliflower, and taco Tuesday was anything but ordinary. The pulled pork taco had a smokiness, then sweetness, then rich maple flavour..kept developing on the palate. 2 glasses each of the Masi, easy drinking and smooth. Great atmosphere, will...come back for more!🥰More

Great name for a great bar

I only popped in here because I found the name quite funny, but the beer and Burger were exceptional. I’d recommend the Hazy Bastard and the Fat Bastard!

My favourite bar of the weekend

Definitely my favourite bar in the centre of the city, Pubs and bars are expensive so follow the happy hour trail unless you want to take out a second mortgage. Make sure your trail includes this spot through. Quirky tongue in cheek decor. Cozy booths...as well, Decent drinks and while we only had fries to accompany them, they were really good.More

Definitely worth a visit

We had heard from a family friend how good this place was for food and drink and we were not let down. Ordering 4 burgers and 2 vegetarian options recommended by our waiter we waited and were not disappointed. We visited during happy hour and...saved some money on the drinks.
