I dropped in after touring around the area and had a Hazy and an Amber and both were excellent. It was the end of the workday so was starting to get busy but I was able to grab a seat at the bar - a...bit chilly with the door opening and closing but that was fine. Bartender was knowledgable and explained the beer selection available, Did not order food but the menu looked extensive. Great location to pop in for a drink.More

Stumbled on this place without looking at any reviews as it was just down the road from where we were staying. We returned a couple of times for drinks and food as we liked the vibe, music, friendly staff. We tried one the beer boards,...the fries were fab (best we’ve had anywhere in a long time) and enjoyed the flatbreads. We were able to get in ad-hoc any time we tried even on a busy Thursday eveningMore

The one vegan option of fried cauliflower tacos is very tasty and the beer is good too. No vegan deserts at all however hence the 4 stars!

Good place to get some beers and a nice dinner. Atmosphere is very cool and lively. Large groups will have a wait - but smaller groups shouldn't have a problem.

Taco Tuesday was a surprise but it shouldn't have been given that tacos and burgers are what they are known for, We had two bastard amber ales, with 2 tacos each: ceviche and fish for me- brisket and pork for my wife. This was a...recommendation from a friend who had visited Iceland before. Oh, and the deserts are pretty good too (the caramel cinnamon and the brownie bits). Greatly recommended.More

I won't lie the name is what first attracted me to this place, fortunately the menu was interesting enough that we didn't regret it. The place was deserted on the late July Friday lunch time we visited and we were shown to a table and...given menus to peruse. I opted for two Tuna Tacos and my Girlfriend went for the Hummus. Both came quickly and were the perfect size for a light lunch and of course tasted fresh and had rich flavours. Not wanting to appear rude we also had a dessert each, Brownie bits with strawberries tasted great and were as described, but the hot caramel twist was the real find, a warm caramel cake with cream. A Pepsi max and some water each rounded off our order, this in total came to £40.98 which is about par for the course in Reykjavik so not unexpected. A solid recommendation from me and would certainly go back should we be in the area again.More

While on a day tour, I met a fellow solo traveler and we decided to come here for dinner and drinks. She had been at Bastard a few times before and found the place to be a comfortable spot. Everything was delicious and staff were...always friendly and attentive. During the rest of my time in Iceland, I met up with my new friend here for either food or drinks. By the time we finished our trips in Iceland we were back at Bastard for the last night, that the manager gave us dessert for free and goodbye hugs. It felt like our local bar and we were leaving friends behind. I was very sad to leave Iceland and hope to return here one day soon.More

Ambience, service, music fantastic. Best beef burger flavor I had so far in Iceland, The bun is perfect, order it "Not burned" A Pickel, Chunky tomato salsa and a green pepper on the side. Perfect. Ketchup was great, beyond average. The fries were, compare to...the burger not really fitting. They were nice and crispy, but still average. I ordered blue cheese sauce in between, served immediately even it was crowded. The starter was tasty but kind of expensive compare what you get. But that's in many places, what is strange for me. Overall a fantastic experience. Thank youMore
