This little place just serves great soup in fresh bread bowls. Small menu, a couple different flavors. Quality over quantity. The portion is the perfect size, you don't leave hungry. So if you are in the city and want some of that famous Icelandic soup you've heard about try this place.

This is a definite quick lunch stop. They served two types of soup for lunch when we went, and we both had the asparagus soup. It was wicked good. It's a small place, and very comfortable and laid-back. There was a large group just hanging out, eating, drinking and having a relaxing time. Totally loved the whole bread bowl idea.... More

After the very expensive food all over Iceland, it was great to wander in on a chilly day to a reasonable price and some of the best soup I've had. Worth a stop!

Enjoyed a late lunch of soup in a bread bowl. My husband & daughter (13) ordered the Italian soup and I ordered the curried vegetable. Service was prompt & the soup was excellent. Not much more to say except when in Reykjavik visit this cafe, you will not be disappointed.

The restaurant only serves two food options, a meat soup and a vegetarian soup, in a bread bowl. My partner and I had one of each option (I believe the options at our visit were lamb and mushroom) and they were both utterly delicious. The staff were friendly and the soup came out very quickly. It was busy but we... More

After a 10 hour tour a great spot for a quick meal and cold beer. Be patience if the restaurant is full as tables consistently turn. No bar area so hang on the steps or the sidewalk.

We ate here twice, once for a late 2 pm lunch, when most of the tables were empty, and once for dinner, about 7 pm, when we got one of the last, three empty tables. The restaurant is a small place and, on the night we ate dinner, several groups were turned away. There is no place to wait, no... More

We stopped here for lunch and had a great bowl of asparagus soup in the requisite bread bowl. The soup was great, and we'd certainly recommend it.

Only 2 types of soup a day and different beers and drinks to choose from - That's it! We had the Hungarian meat and the Italian vegetable. The bread is good and the soups are hearty but I'd say the reviews are somewhat over-enthusiastic. Nice for a visit and a light lunch or pre-dinner soup but nothing too much to... More

Tiny family owned soup restaurant in the heart of Reykjavik We are the first "soup in bread" restaurant in Iceland. We've been serving soups in bread for over 20 years and still loving it. We don't take reservations, ever - but swing by and we will do our best to fit you in with smiles on our faces! :)
