We decided to visit when we read the reviews. We give the cafe points for the really fast service (our order was taken as soon as we sat and we were served in 3') The queues are really long but try and go 15' before...it opens so you don't wait too long. The only minus was the lack of meat, the broth was tasty but you could hardly taste ANY meat in it.More

Quirky wee place with 2 soups on the menu in a bread bowl, one meat, one vegetarian. We both picked the meat soup which was curried coconut chicken. Possibly one of the best soups I’ve tasted! So hearty and warming on a cold day and...the bread was so fresh too. Got busy extremely quickly so would recommend going for it opening at 11.30am. Staff great too. They do a beer and soup deal which was reasonably priced too. Will definitely be back!More

Popped in here for a coffee. Friendly staff in a different kind of coffee house. Delightfully old with lots of character. Glad we visited.

Lovely place. Two soups on offer, one meat and one vegetarian, both served in a bread bowl. We both had the meat one and it was excellent, we both loved it. Recommended for a nice lunch.

Great spot, loved the soup, it was so full of flavour and hearty on a cold winter's day! Also, the bread is so fresh and tasty, nearly finished it all once the soup was gone!

I had seen this place on tik tok and everyone was raving about it. In the middle of a blizzard this place was a treat. Entered up the steps into a warm cosy atmosphere. 2 options the meat soup or the veggie, I had the...veggie which was mushroom. Now when I say this was the best soup I’ve ever tasted I’m not lying, it was perfect. Buttered the top of the loaf to dunk then as the soup was eaten you could take off bits of the bread bowl to eat. Was so filling and tasty. It’s an experience, yes it’s £15 but everything in Iceland is expensive. Don’t miss it if you’re in ReykjavikMore

My wife said we should do this, £15 for soup in a bread roll I said???? Well, I stand corrected, it's traditional, it's tasty, It's filling and really satisfying. In fact, if you don't do this you are missing a trick. Do yourselves a favour...and make your way to this great establishment, you won't regret it. Highly recommended plus you are experiencinga bit of local culture.More

Soup was tasty and bread was delicious. Service was without a smile and price was more than advertised on outside sign. When asked about the price waitress was rude.

Lovely little place. Found after wandering along the road looking for a bit of dinner. Choice of two soups, one meat one veggie served in a cob. Very delicious. Quick service as the soup is already steaming and ready to go. Friendly staff and comfortable...environment for a gal on her own.More

I am not sure. The bread bowls are rye bread bowls. That is for certain.
