With the group of friends we stopped for pizza and burgers. Local small, but cozy. We were 26 people and very kindly joined the tables. We had burgers and pizza. Fabulous burgers, but what amazed us most was the pizza. Really great, quality products used and cooked in a wood oven. A leap with the mind to our Italy. Around many places sell frozen pizza for a real pizza, in this place instead it is real pizza! The waitresses were very kind and despite many people also very professional.

We really enjoyed 101 Bistro. Friendly service, comfortable seating. They have a wood-burning pizza oven! I ordered the Lamb Plate which was filling and well-cooked. The puff pastry on top was not necessary and came out dry, but the lamb, rice, and salad were tasty. Pepperoni Pizza and Hawaiian Pizza was were also great! The pepperoni in Iceland is different from the pepperoni in the US. Here, it is more like a ham. The calzone was absolutely massive. My husband asked for a special pizza with green olives and they accommodated him even though it was a custom order. It came out fantastic. We enjoyed it enough that we went back a second time! The girls at the front remembered us and welcomed us back. The second time I ordered a Mexican Cream pizza for myself and it was delicious. Both times we enjoyed that Viking Beer. Highly recommend this place for anyone, especially families.

After a long day travelling and then some quick exploring we wanted something simple & delicious. This place did the trick. Friendly staff, cosy setting and lovely food. Would recommend. On the pricier side but then again what do you expect in the heart of the city. Even though it got busier throughout our meal when we were done eating we were able to take our time which we really liked.

This spot was close to our hotel and we had lunch here. It was a very good meal. The Icelandic lamb was served with basmati rice and two side sauces. It was tender and flavorful. The pizza was excellent - it had a wood fired crust, tender and chewy, and we enjoyed the Icelandic touch of blueberry jam and blue cheese on it. A great spot to eat when you are busy downtown.

Very surprised this place gets so many good reviews. People seem to love the fish and chips which we did NOT order. We ordered a burger and a salad. The burger was not very good. I’d rate it a C- The slice of tomato was twice as thick as the actual burger, which was pretty tasteless. The Greek salad was described by my wife as simply “terrible”. Service was good which brings the place from a 1 star up to a 2 star.

We recently dined at 101 Bistro on Austurstraeti 3 in Reykjavik, Iceland, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. We enjoyed a delicious pizza and a fresh Caprese salad, perfectly complemented by some local Viking beer. The flavors were exceptional, making each bite a true delight. What made our visit even more enjoyable was the friendly and attentive staff. They ensured we had everything we needed and made us feel right at home. The cozy atmosphere and excellent service added to the overall fantastic experience. We highly recommend 101 Bistro for anyone looking for a great meal in Reykjavik. It's a must-visit spot for delicious food and warm hospitality!

We were walking through the city square in search of dinner in Reykjavik when we discovered a gem of a restaurant. 101 Bistro is located in one of the oldest houses in Reykjavik which was built in 1898.  The restaurant is not very large however, it is always packed with happy patrons.  We realized after our first visit why the restaurant is always packed…the food is delicious!  My son fell in love with the lamb plate on his first visit and I fell for the Fish & Chips.  However, after sampling a small piece of my son’s lamb I had to order it during our second visit.  We definitely enjoyed our meal however, the service was wonderful as well which only complimented our wonderful meal.  Considering the expensive cost of everything in Iceland 101 Bistro was relatively affordable at cost of $116.00 for three.

The best fish and chips I have ever had. The batter was thin and flaky. Fish was fresh and you could actually taste it. The tartar sauce was also amazing. My friend got creamy mexicana and it might be my favorite pizza yet. Waitresses were also very friendly.

I am giving this establishment a 5 Star review because they do what they do well. This is to say this restaurant is a great place for a super casual meal with friends, family, or colleagues, where you can enjoy a short list of well-executed international and classic Icelandic dishes for a fair (albeit, Iceland) price. Some of the international dishes take a few liberties, but most people likely will not mind. I tried the fish and chips and local lamb, as well as beers and wine. It seems the pizzas are popular here,as well, although I am allergic to way and they do not have a dairy free cheese (nor would I expect them too). The local beers on tap, served in a hefty liter mug are perfect to nip at the chill in the air. The delightful servers and kitchen cheerfully handle food allergens/intolerances, although, everything will be prepared in the same kitchen. Did I mention the servers are delightful? We had an efficient and cheerful young lady from Delaware, USA both nights I dined there. The (mostly 80s) playlist worked for us, too (but that may be generational). Whether you’re just looking to avoid fuss and want to be able to hear the conversation at your table, or just looking to have some beers or wine (no liquor) with your peeps, this will do the trick admirably.

Great quality food and really friendly service. We ordered fish and chips and a wood fired pizza, both were served fast, piping hot and really good quality. The staff were prompt, polite and made it a great experience.

Amazing Fish and Chips, so crunchy and tasty! We stopped here after wandering about for a while, looking for somewhere nice to have dinner. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ordered 2 ciders, Garlic Bread starter, the Fish and Chips and a Burger meal. The cheesy Garlic bread was to die for, with a pot of Marinara sauce for dipping. Fish and chips was so good, I may go back tonight and have it again. Their Tartare sauce was thick and creamy, possibly made with sour cream. The atmosphere is chilled with a mix of 80’s classics playing alongside today’s tunes. We were too full for dessert but Wouk recommend this Bistro for a decent evening meal.

We learned of this place from a Facebook Iceland visitors page. We were staying across Ingólfur Square at the Centre Hotels Plaza, so it was really convenient. We ate here every night of our stay (7 visits). We had a different meal every night with a small bottle of house red wine each. Fish, burgers, pizzas, falafel plate... generous portions and very tasty. We were not disappointed. Prices are reasonable (by Reykjavik standards) averaging £45 to £50 for 2 adults. Service was helpful, cheerful and quick. At peak times we had to wait for a few minutes for a table. The short wait (maximum 5 to 10 minutes) was always worth it for the food that followed!

We went to 101 Bistro twice during our time in Reykjavik. The first time for pizza and cheesy garlic bread and the second time for Fish and Chips. We had Margherita pizza which was quite good and the cheesy garlic bread was fantastic but the best was the fish and chips. Really, really good. They have both inside and outside seating but it is on the street, basically the sidewalk. If you sit outside you order yourself at the counter inside and they bring it to you but if you sit inside they will take you order and deliver it as well. Highly recommend this place. The staff is very friendly.

We stopped in for a quick lunch while walking through Reykjavik. The staff was very friendly and the place is clean. Our orders were hamburgers and the fish and chips. The burgers were well prepared with great flavor and came with a mustard/mayo sauce we asked for on the side. They were very good. The fish and chips were excellent. The cod was flaky and moist with a light batter for crispness. Perfect with some malt vinegar. There was a dill forward tartar sauce served with this sling with a small salad. We definitely recommend eating here.

We walked in, (no booking ) got sat down straight away, drinks on the table under 10 mins, food on the table in 15. Calamari was nicely cooked rings and the Mamma Mia pizza was plenty tasty, base firm bit not burnt and not too much crust, plenty of tasty topping but not so much it slid off. What’s not to like?
