We bumped in this cafe casually taking a stroll from the Marina hotel. Not only it's super close from where we stay (even in stormy days), but you are NEVER disappointed. We went every single morning. The pastries are always warm, flaky, and fragrant. My...husband tried also the apple cake, the crepes, and the muffins. All along with a nice, hot, and foamy Lavazza cappuccino. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy with a nice view of the harbor. Colors are soothing (blue and velvet) and there is even a nice and cozy fireplace. Staff is helpful, nice, graceful, and kind. Thank you for a great experience :)More
Stopped here for lunch because it was brightly coloured and close to where we would be catching our Puffin Express tour. Generous portions and two non-vegetarians shared a vegan sourdough sandwich that was delicious.
This was close to my hotel, and I quickly made it my daily coffee stop. The coffee is great, the staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely and rustic, and a toasty fire if you’re feeling a bit chilly. Sit in or takeaway...coffee available,More
I LOVE this café. I stayed at the Exeter Hotel (also AMAZING) which is right across the street, and I stumbled upon Rost. I love it. It’s cozy, warm and inviting. The staff is very friendly and approachable, and the menu was awesome. I came...more than once during my stay because their hot chocolate is amazing, and their food menu is solid. I had their holiday special hot chocolate, tomato soup, and a slice of their cake. I wanted to try all the things on the menu, but I only made it here a couple of times during my visit. I strongly recommend it!More
One visit wasn't enough! Lovely spot for coffee & brunch. Right on the water so the view is beautiful. Latte was one of the best I’ve ever had. The Icelandic Pancake is a MUST. Fast and kind service. They even remembered my preferred latte flavor!...Highly recommend!More
Nice place to sit and look over the harbour. Coffee ok Hot chocolate good but very small and very expensive. Paid an extra £2 just for squirty cream !!!
Came here a few times on our holiday ...just came across it after a whale watching tour. Really tasty food and drinks...Good service , very relaxed and comfortable surroundings with big picture windows overlooking the harbour.
My wife went with the speciality hot chocolate, which was absolutely huge and one of the best she's had. I had a magic mushroom coffee and it was so good, really highly recommended.
We came here for a lunch by the water. We asked if they had anything gluten free and they had loads of options: soups, salads and open sandwiches with gluten free bread! I ordered a surf and turf sandwich (salmon and ham) on the gluten...free bread - they said because it was smaller bread they would give me an extra slice. It was delicious and I was very full when finished. My partner got a tuna sandwich which he really enjoyed and coffees were great too. Lovely food, staff and view!!More
This cafe is located right in the heart of Reykjavik´s Old Harbour. You get an amazing view of the ocean and the mountain in the background. They offer a wide variety of pastries (Icelandic and European). The coffee is some of the best in the...city but it´s the staff that really make it. They were really busy when I came in but they were still able to accommodate me and add a personal touch. They went to great lengths to decorate and make the cafe seem cozy.More
Went here after walking for a while and wanted a hot drink. Lovely atmosphere and staff friendly. Coffee was delicious but definitely far too small - not worth £4 for a cappuccino. Next time, I recommend ordering the double.
Friendly and cosy place to warm up and use the terrific restrooms. Coffee and hot chocolate is fabulous. Great view of the harbor.
Iceland is a great country to visit but it is eye wateringly expensive. So, here's a tip when you are in the delightful city of Reykjavik. Avoid the popular tourist streets with their mortgage level prices and pop down to the Harbour and enjoy the...simple pleasures of Rost. You can get soup, have a choice of salads, enjoy a rhubarb pastry and sink a coffee made with hand ground spices. While my wife and I were in Iceland last week we made three visits to Rost, each totally enjoyable.More
This cafe has a variety of drinks as well as some breakfast items and a few pastries. Great place to stop when arriving in the country early in the morning from North America.
