There is a lot of hype about this place
Yes it’s simple take out with some seating
The fish is fresh and skewered
Oil is prayed on the fish with a sprinkle of their mix and cooked
Great place for a quick bite
We read raving critics. We booked a table for seven. Initially we thought it was authentic and nice
We triwd evwryrhing and most the scalops. There was a smell in scalops but we all had at least 2 peaces and we all.had serious stomack issues....Overall food qas bad, service not existant and we strongly suggest not to go thereMore
The long wooden tables are very close together inside, and for groups of 4+ really. So if you're not in a group of 4, get here for a very early lunch and sit outside, they open at 11.30 am. I just had the Lobster Soup...which is more langoustine, and so much tastier anyway, and is really an excellent fish soup, very tasty and well worth a quick visit. If I'd been able to stay longer I would have loved to try one of their fresh fish dishes that looked so fab.More
My wife and I visited Saegreifinn on a recent trip to Reykjavik. This small restaurant only serves Lobster Soup and Grill Fish. The Lobster Soup was delicious! Warm, lightly briny, sweet, and buttery broth was filled with melt in your mouth lobster chunks and fresh...veggies. We also had Grilled Tusk which was a meaty and flaky fish with a nicely charred outside.More
Me and my girlfriend visit this place at least 1 per month. We were very sad that this place was closed for almost a year because they have the best Lobster soup in whole Iceland. We know that for sure because we tried dosens of...them everywhere.
Their soup has this unique taste that none of the others have.
I also recommend skewers - you know it's fresh because you can see and pick which one you like.
Good to have you back ! :)More
Partly self service, you order as you check in to the restaurant, and the restaurant staff seats you and then gets your food made to order in 15 minutes. The special for the day, lobster soup, bread and grilled cod skewer, was excellent. Generally Iceland...is overpriced for food, but not the case here, felt like this was a better value.More
We came here as the restaurants more central in Reykjavik were fully booked and we wanted some sea food. We were very pleasantly suprised as the service was good and the food was very tasy. The lobster soup was delicious and came with a hefty...serving of bread. This was followed grilled fish (we had tusk) and veggies, it seems simple but it was of very good quality.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a spot to eat whilst exploring the harbour!More

We serve the lunch offer every weekday between 11:30-14:30 :) The lunch offer is a lobster soup and bread for starter and a grilled fish skewer for main.
Which type of fish is on the lunch offer varies :)
