Cannot rate this place high enough - not only was it reasonably priced (by Iceland standards), the service was excellent and the food was delicious and tasted so fresh. We are big Thai fans, and this was definitely up there as one of our favourite Thai restaurants. We enjoyed it so much that we went back their for lunch the following day. Highly recommend!!

My OH's colleague recommended we try Mai Thai as it's reasonably priced for Iceland. We ended up visiting twice over 4 days because we loved it and it was super close to our hotel!
The laid back atmosphere suited us, with self seating and going up to the till to order. We tried the Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, Green Thai Curry and Pandan Curry - cant fault any of them. Super yummy and fresh, made minutes after you order 😋 !! The only way they could improve is to add some sides to the menu as we definitely would have ordered something extra to share!

We both love thai food so while in Reykjavik we ate here. Normally we order soup and a main - here the soup IS a main, so we certainly had enough food to eat, though my tom yam chicken soup was indistinguishable from my main course - thai red curry. Both tasted great though. My wife had the coconut soup and the vegan pad thai. Beware of the chillies in the sprinkler if youre not used to them - they are very hot ! And I like hot ! The cheapest bottle of (good) wine in the country washed down our food and we went home full and happy.

We needed a quick dinner one night and stopped in here. Only 2 or 3 people were working but they cooked, cleaned, got many take away orders ready, and served us delicious food quickly. There was a bounty of crisp vegetables in my dish and my husband's Pad Thai was one of the best he'd every had.

Went to get takeaway food, fast service, BUT, the portion was extremely small, one was half empty, both mostly fluid, limited chicken in the portion, paid 4600 isk, just about 30 EUR. I WILL NEVER go there again. Dont get a second chance for fist impression

Looking for dinner in Reykjavik, Mai Thai was our solution. We stayed in Thailand 5 months and were remembered of the great original thai taste here in iceland, so great. Prices are quite low compared to other restaurants for dinner. Mai thai also has original beers like chang and so on....

Like many in Rekjavik this is a drop in type establishment. It's dimple to order - you choose your meal type and then one of 4 main ingredients (chicken, fish, vegetables and tofu). I ordered a chicken and cashew nuts stir fry which was promptly served with rice and it was delightful - very fresh, crisp and packed with flavour. My wife's prawn dish was equally nice, and both were of a generous size. At c£12 it was by far the cheapest meal we had in the city during our stay too. It's well worth the visit!!

I had seen this was a place to visit and I can honestly say it’s one of the nicest Pad Thai dishes I’ve ever tasted and the portions were really good, the staff were really friendly and welcoming and it had a really nice atmosphere, we visiting on a really snowy February day and I think we were there virtually as it opened. The food was cooked fresh and was lovely and hot which helped to warm up. I would definitely visit again if we travel to Iceland again. Thank you :)

We had excellent and authentic Thai curries at Mai Thai. The sauce was particularly tasty. My only negative would be that there could have been more chicken and vegetables in both curries. The service was good, the seating area was pleasant and, overall, the meal was very good value for Iceland.

We had an hour to grab food between our various adventures. My wife fancies a Thai curry and this was nearby so we gave it a shot. Great call by my wife. Portions size was filling but not uncomfortable. The flavours were great. Service was Icelandic efficient and cost was not bad (for Iceland 🇮🇸 🤣).

Yesterday was my first time there and I will never come back again. The stir fried with shrimps in oyster sauce wasn't bad at all but it only comes with 5 little shrimps and the sauce had a weird tasting. My friend had the chicken pad Thai, the portion of chicken was very poor and he didn't really enjoy the dish because it didn't taste good as other pad thais he had tried.
They also sold me a expired drink and I was trying to let the employee know about that to get something else but he didn't give me a chance and ignored me taking new orders instead, so I had to leave earlier and go somewhere else to buy a new drink...

A great choice for lunch or evening meal, very fresh produce and lovely range of food. Decent price, friendly helpful staff and clean. Chicken pad thai and green curry come highly recommended. Quick and efficient service, we gladly returned before heading to the airport.

This is among the best Thai restaurants in Iceland. The preparations are healthy, delicately spiced, and fresh. The service is warm and friendly. Our experience during the pandemic is even better than in normal times: no waiting and plenty of seating!

We love Thai food and had previously checked trip advisor for reviews of places to eat whilst in Reykjavik and came across this place. We certainly weren't disappointed. We ordered 3 different dishes to share amongst 3 of us, pad thai, red curry and a stir fry, we added a portion of prawn crackers, a beer, red wine and coke. Portion sizes were just right and the food was delicious, this was our cheapest meal out (around £55) and would highly recommend it, we were actually tempted to go back the following night, we only didn't because we only had 2 nights in Reykjavik and wanted to try another place. The staff were lovely and helpful, it had a nice relaxed atmosphere.

We always love a thai meal whenever we go away, so we went here as the reviews were good. All our meals were excellent and very cheap for reykjavik. We had 2 curries with rice and one chicken thai noodle dish, 3 drinks and some prawn crackers all for under 50 pounds.
