We stayed 4 nights in Reykjavik and ate here 3 times.... the food was amazing! We both had the seafood menu most nights. The fishermans soup is just divine, rich, creamy, full of seafood. A mysterious green oil gives it an extra rich tangy flavour....Fabulous! The fish of the day was always super fresh, perfectly cooked, on a bed of vegetables and mash. The arctic char is better than salmon richly decorate with a spicy mayo, thinly cut chips and herbs. The desert was a lemon curd with icecream and shortbread. Divine! On last day it was my birthday - as a surprise they served us champagne and an extra desert of chocolate ganache. Unforgettable! Highly reccomend this place. Staff were all amazing, thank you for making our trip even more memorable.More

What a fabulous dinner! My son and I had the 6 course chefs choice, they made mine vegan. I have never had such amazing vegan food. My son was equally impressed with his courses. The malbec was very good and the service was spot on....The waitstaff spoke English which was a huge bonus as I have dietary restrictions. The vegan chocolate mousse was phenomenal. I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant-just like Iceland itself, absolutely magical.More

The service was exceptional - appeared exactly when we needed them. The prise fixe that we chose was four courses of terrific with well prepared selections having interesting and delicious ingredients. We chose lamb fillets for the main course, prepared to perfection. The dessert was...a dense chocolate with Japanese pearls, raspberry sorbe, and hot salted caramel sauce. A perfect place for a birthday celebration with my wifeMore

This is a delightful restaurant and the location I selected to make an engagement proposal. The team were amazing and really bent over backwards to make the night memorable for us including providing complementary champagne and volunteering to make a superb (discreet) video of the...event. The 6 course secret menu was one of the best meals we’ve had this year. I’d highly recommend this restaurant.More

What a fabulous restaurant! Staff were efficient & informative about the food. Small place but very warm & quirky. Would advise booking a table as can get busy. We had beetroot carpaccio, pan fried scallops, beef ribeye, glazed lamb fillet, chocolate "lion bar" & marital bliss....Food was amazing & beautifully presented. A little expensive but what we expected. Well worth it! Would advise anyone visiting Reykjavik to make a visit here!More

Fantastic tasting and beautiful food, with a great ambience with live piano music. We had a 6 course surprise menu with non alcoholic drinks pairing, couldn't fault any of the courses that came. It is fine dining so comes with a price tag to match...that, but for a special night with the spouse it was great.More

We ordered the surprise menu - 6 delicious courses! Service was excellent and staff was courteous. Would highly recommend (and sorry we missed out on the fish and chips served at lunch!) Only negative … tables are quite close together so it can be noisy...…we had a couple next to us who were speaking loudly and a fellow a few tables over on a speaker phone call.More

We had the best experience here we chose the secret menu it had 6 courses and they were all incredible, good portion sizes with amazing flavours, a mixture of fish & meat. We booked before based on other reviews it’s definitely more of a cosy...restaurant feel, they had a lovely piano playing live which was a great atmosphere, it’s expensive but a great experience. Our hotel had voucher books and inside was a 15% off voucher this helped with the bill as with drinks too it was 30.000 kr before the discount. I would definitely go back we really enjoyed our evening. As it’s a surprise I don’t want to ruin it so will post just one of the courses so you can see the quality and portion size.More

We were recommended this restaurant by a Reykjavik local and it didn’t disappoint. We went on a Saturday night and the ambiance was perfect, as was the food. We ate our way through most of the starters on the menu rather than order any main...meals, and loved every one of them. The fish soup was poured at our table from a teapot into our bowls of seafood. That was a fun experience and the soup was delicious. This was definitely our best meal in Reykjavik and we highly recommend it.More

Incredibly delicious My husband had the lamb and I am vegan so went with the tasting menu They gave me what I thought was a Greek salad turned out to be olive oil infused puffs on this bed of beets with a cucumber iced glaze....The dinner was a caramelized squash. Unbelievable!!! For vegans highly recommend!!More

The food was good. No question. I had the lamb, medium rare, and my partner had the fish of the day (which was a small piece of two fish: Arctic char and a white fish that escapes me). The lamb was tender and not chewy....Both were swimming in sauces. Tasty, but a bit overboard. Key take away was the main courses were very good, but overpriced for what you get. The thing that really dinged it for me was the price to quality ratio. Case in point, the wine. I'm not a wine afficianado, but I'm not clueless either. I ordered a white Italian wine I didn't recognize ($70). On the cheaper end of the menu but not the cheapest. It's bad. I later find that I can buy this wine locally in the States for $10. Why is this on your menu? This is not a menu that reflects a curated selection when it comes to wine. Likewise for food. It's dressed up nicely and would be well worth it at a lower price point, but it's pretending to be finer dining than it actually is.More

A fantastic experience. This started off not so fantastic as there was an issue with our booking where we were not told that it was a special set menu for NYE. This was an issue for me as every single course of the set menu...I couldn’t eat because I’m 7 months pregnant (much of it was raw, cured etc) plus have a severe nut allergy and lots of the dishes contained nuts. However, after the initial confusion our amazing waitress went and got the chef who came and spoke to us and sorted out a different menu for us with things I could eat, and it turned into a lovely New Year’s Eve dinner. At no point did we feel like we were being difficult or annoying them, which is rare when you have allergies and are pregnant! Would really recommend for a cosy and delicious meal.More

Just returned from our first night out in Reykjavik and our dinner at Food Cellar. Wow! The food was exceptional, the service impeccable without being too formal and the wine & drinks list extensive. The relaxed atmosphere belies the extraordinarily high standard of the food....Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.More

Hello there are many wines there but wines are very expensive. Beers are probably a better option and the sizes are not too big and able to finish everything.
