We ordered the lobster soup and carpaccio as starters. The lobster soup is the best one I have tasted in a long time and the carpaccio was excellent. Then we ordered the duck and pepper steak as main courses and were amazed by the taste...and quality! We give Matarkjallarinn full five stars.More

From the seating outside and to the inside outside this is a proper place to eat at! Sometimes I bring my wife and sometimes I bring my friends. But a great place to bring your girlfriend! It is dark, a guy playing the piano and...a really fun bartender. The owner is also on the floor keeping every little detail in check. The fooooood never disappoints me definetly go for the set menu or just anything on the menu really! Good value for high quality food. Thank you chefs and waiters for a good experience every time!More

We want here for lunch. The place it quite pricy, but the food quality is very good. We had today's catch plus some beer, and enjoyed the lunch. If something, this place is a little bit dark for lunch.

Sometimes delicious food and great service combines to create magic. Matarkjallarinn was such a magical experience. From the delicious pretzel snack to the best fries my daughter has ever had, to a wonderful scallop-cauliflower starter - I had to ask for a spoon to scrape...the bowl of the last of the delicious (lobster?) sauce! The best white wine and throughout friendly, well-informed and attentive service. We hope to be back another time!More

We had meat platter that contained a variety of meat dishes with sauce. This was amazing! The place is dark and very cozy. Great service and good location.
