Nice dinner for our last night in Iceland. Restaurant offers a good selection of dishes made with local products, as well as some selection for children. The bar nearby creates some cocktails for us (at Icelandic prices...) which was really interesting. The settings of the restaurant and on general of the boutique hotel are beautiful.

The food is good. The service between starter and main is super fast, faster than we expected. The food however was worth it, the portions are huge and very flavoursome. Service is always with a smile and the drinks variety is widely selected, local and international favourites available, try the local beer, it’s incredible!! The restaurant itself is pretty, the interior well balanced with the glass exposing the natural beauty outside.

Between us we had the soup, tacos, carpaccio, lamb and a dessert. Everything was excellent. Unique flavor combinations, beautiful presentations, nice portion size. The layers of flavor and respect to the meat as the star of the dish was amazing and delicious. The merengue for desert was light and refreshing. Would definitely make a stop here in way to or from Iceland on any visit.

Instead of lobster, we were served with langoustines. The waiter, who actually appeared once after 90 minutes of waiting, admitted that they cooked what they had and it happened so they didn’t have lobster so we were given langoustines. He was so honest to mention that if he had been the owner of the restaurant he would never have served such a lousy food because all of his customers would be lost for ever. After such a candid words of him I decided not to continue our discussion as it was just pointless. The waiter suggested a discount of 30% for the cheated dish. I strongly recommend avoiding this place with a wide berth.

We went to the restaurant based on the 4,5* rating, but it was not more than average. The music was so loud we could hardly have a conversation. The food could have been a lot better. The lamb is supposed to be pink in the middle, but was way overcooked and chewy. The risotto wasn’t risotto at all, just an ordinary rice mixed with curry. Definitely not worth the money.

I visited KEF restaurant with my family. We had our two toddlers with us and it's kinda tricky to visit a restaurant with them. The staff was super understanding, they already had pens to draw ready on the table when we arrived. They played with the kids and were super fast to bring the dinner for the kids first as they couldn't wait too long. All in all a great experience and we're thankful for the understandment and patience they showed :). will definitely visit again!

Would not recommend this place to anyone. We had to wait over an hour for our food because the chef made some mistake they told us. When the food finally arrived one of the meal had a sour taste and weird smell. We had to order another meal to replace that one. The waiter told us that they think there is nothing wrong with it. So i guess that is just the quality they offer. I would stay away from this place.

My wife and I had the misfortune of flying Iceland Air from Minneapolis to Germany for a vacation. We just about missed our connecting Iceland Air flight at KEF on the way to Germany. But we did miss it on the return flight. Poor planning on Iceland Air's part. So, we ended up having the stay the night at the Hotel Keflavik which is where the Kef Restaurant is located. We had "meal vouchers" from Iceland Air to eat there. When we walked up to the host stand for this restaurant, the host noticed we had meal vouchers from Iceland Air in our hands and immediately lead us OUT of their restaurant and over to a breakfast nook off the lobby. He gave no explanation. We were 2nd class citizens in their eyes. When we sat in the breakfast nook, we were looking over the menu. We had each picked out something that looked good in light of our long disappointing day of travel. In a few minutes prior to ordering, the waitress brought out a chicken salad for each of us. My wife and I looked at each other, then told the waitress we did not order these. She explained that the "meal voucher" only provided this one item. No beverage. This chicken salad had crumpled up Dorito's on it. Classy! Then we decided to order some cocktails on our own dime. I had two vodka martinis, and my wife had two whiskey cokes. The total bar tab came to $67 before tip!! (9,300 Icelandic Krona) The waitress told us alcohol in Iceland is VERY expensive. I looked up cost of living in Iceland. Eating out is roughly 33% higher than in the US. Our alcohol tab would have been less than half in the US. Anyway, bad food and poor customer service at this restaurant. But in general, we don't ever want to go to Iceland again.

We visited in the first few days of the New year (2024) and it was very quiet in the elegant restaurant. The menu is only short with around 8 main dishes and 5 starters . Both my husband and I chose the lamb shank which was cooked superbly. The meat fell off the bone and it came with an arrant of neatly arranged vegetables. Our little treasure had a cheese burger which was served in a warmed brioche bun and triple cooked fries which were hot and crispy with fluffy insides. It was simply described as “Wonderful lamb on a cold afternoon! “ it was utterly delicious and the service was quiet but efficient. Lovely meal in an elegant setting with no ridiculous prices and lamb which melted in the mouth!

We came on a Saturday night and they were very busy and short staffed. We had to sit in the hotel breakfast room instead of the restaurant which definitely does not have the ambiance to match the prices. The waiter seemed to be a busboy filling in. He didn't know how to pour wine- he emptied the whole bottle into our 4 glasses. The food had potential but the beef tartar was too salty, the pork cheeks had way too much sauce, etc. We had much better food for better prices elsewhere on our trip around Iceland.

I ate here twice on my trip and both times i was very satisfied. The restaurant is glass fronted with infrared heat lights and log burners They have a fixed price menu of the day Their lobster soup is delicious and that was followed by tasty lamb and finalised with a french chocolate cake. The second time we had prawns in mango dressing, local salted cod and tiramisu. Both times were excellent

This was a nice option we chose near the airport where we were staying before an early flight. We found the service to be good and there is happy hour from 3-6pm I believe. The menu is limited and they were out of some things. So, we both got burgers, but thought they were very good. Also, avoid the young woman with dark hair at the front desk as the restaurant is in a hotel and we were trying to ask her where the restaurant was and she ignored us for awhile with no eye contact or “I’ll be with you in just a minute”, so we just stood there until she decided to help.

Looking for lunch before heading to the airport, we came across this very inviting-looking restaurant whilst exploring Keflavik. We were greeted and offered seating in the lovely, warm restaurant. I ordered fish if the day, Arctic Charr and my husband had what he claimed, was one of the best hamburgers he’s ever had. My fish was superb; perfectly cooked and with an array of flavoursome vegetables and a beautiful citrus hollandaise. Service was efficient and friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant, located inside the elegant Keflavik Hotel.

Despite some other reviews, us and our friends decided to dine here on our last evening in Iceland ❤️🫶 We needed to be close to Keflavik Airport so we decided to dine here. It’s less than a 10 minutes drive from the airport. We would like to say every single dish from starters to main to desert were fantastic. We had Lobster soups, Code Tongues, Lamb dish as well as Char dish -sorry for not knowing the full names :) and they were all speechless, great taste and mouthwatering combinations. Our waiter Alexandru was a great help with recommendations. He is kind, nice and really wants to help❤️🫶

Based on reviews we were a little hesitant going but we are glad we decided to give them a chance! Food was incredible, we both had the steak sandwiches with fries and chocolate cake for dessert and WOW. The steak was cooked perfectly, melted in your mouth. Waited a normal time for everything and the service was incredible as well, very social and happy servers! Overall we really enjoyed it as our last meal in Iceland! Glad we went, would definitely recommend!
