A taste of the Orient near the Arctic Circle

We accidentally found this place while driving through Keflavik. It was an ironic meal to be honest. Trying out a Lebanese-Syrian-Greek fusion café in Iceland turned out to have been a real good decision with radiators pumping out the heat, odd low fusion music, friendly service with great Eastern Mediterranean tastes and breads.

Excellent Chefs and Food!

100% would recommend everybody. Very delicious and different variety of food to choose from, beautiful restaurant, prices are cheaper than everywhere else in town. Both Chefs are very helpful, going extra mile if there are any special requirements, so feel free to ask for recommendations. I was hold at Keflavik for extra day due to weather conditions, but honestly saying, was so happy to spend another day in town at my favorite restaurant. Please visit Oriento - one of jewels in Iceland!

Tasty Food and Friendly Service

My wife and I ate here twice during our most recent visit to Iceland. We had gyros, pizza, and souvlaki, and washed it all down with Gull and Torberg beers. The food was incredibly tasty, especially the lamb (to be expected in Iceland). We were craving something - anything - spicy, as that is pretty hard to find in Iceland, and this place absolutely hit the spot. The owners were working the counter and grill and they were so helpful and wonderfully friendly. They open earlier than most restaurants in Keflavik and close later. We definitely recommend eating here!

Excellent food great options

Great place to eat when in Keflavik really friendly atmosphere. Great tastes that takes you to maditaranian places specially if you try the Greek pita ( Souvlaki). It's with it 100%. Nice polite staff. Clean and tidy store.

Great food

We had a lovely meal here that was honestly so delicious. Great service from the owners who had a nice chat with us too. The lamb was so tender and had some wonderful flavours in it - portions were great too! Really pleased to have found this place

Whether you're in a rush or want to sit and eat this is the best food for the best price in kef. Great people who own it. Don't treat the extra spicy lightly unless you know what you're doing!

Fabulous food and service

We've just had 3 nights in Iceland our base being Keflavik. We ate out all 3 nights and two of those were here at Oriento, the food was just so yummy. Great quality, reasonable prices for Iceland & very casual dining which we wanted after being next door at Paddys bar for a few beers. We had mixed kebabs, the meat was delicious. I love lamb and chicken and it was petfectly seasoned and cooked fresh on the grill. You can eat in or take out and there's a good selection of alcoholic & none alcoholic drinks.

Pleasant surprise

Glad that the cravings for middle eastern food kicked in while in the area. Mixed Grill with Bulgur and Salad (spicy) freshly made and cooked to perfection. The meat was lean and very tender and well balance with the spices. The bulgur was very good and the bread and hummus delicious. Extremely friendly costumer service and a nice, clean eatery.

Absolutely yummy!!!

We visited this restaurant as it’s a great stop near the airport. 2 miles away. The Middle Eastern food is so delicious and is fresh and hot! The family who owns the place is lovely. We recommend it highly. It’s casual but don’t let that fool you. This is a great place for lunch!!

Perfect fastfood / reataurant.

Good personal service, looks like a small family busines, i think they where a cople and a son wirking there. The spices and souses where perfect. Real arabic bred (not tortillas). And also Greek souvlaki bread with the food. Thanks for a good meal.

Best food great prices in Iceland

After walking around town and looking at all the menus we decided on Oriento. The food was fantastic and inexpensive. I had the kebabs and my wife a hamburger. All were tasty and filling. The staff friendly and speak multiple languages. They cook right in front of you, so nothing to hide.

Friendly, delicious and convenient.

What a joy to find this restaurant. And even more of a joy that they did takeaway. We ordered an late dinner before our early morning flight to eat in the comfort of our hotel room. Staff were friendly, family run business. May their business continue to do well!

Opposite Our Hotel!

We ordered the Lamb Gyros on our last night before our flight. Didn't expect much. It was the best Gyros since we visited Greece many years ago. The UK can't match it and you must try it - on the main street into Kusavik. My wife agreed - superb. Nice people too.

Best kept secrets of Keflavik

I didn't know what to expect when í first saw the resturant. We accidentally found it and went in there...and Wow We got lucky. The service is great and the food delicious. Very clean and plenty of space for larger groups. I Can recommend this place 100%. I will definitely make a trip to Keflavik just for the food and the sauce !!!

Best middle eastern food

Look no further! Stop here for a tasty chicken gyro. The food is absolutely amazing. I even drive 40 min from Reykjavik just to eat here. Very good price for good quality meal. Highly recommended!
