We loved stopping here after our long drive from the West Fjords. The lobster was delicious and I had the best shrimps and smoked salmon salad ever! The service was excellent as well. You should definitely try it if you are in the area!

The worst meal ever. Could not eat It and the owner thought it was funny. I paid kr. 3.100 for his stupid grin.More

Three of us ate dinner at this delightful village bar/restaurant in Holmavik. I had traditional Icelandic cod cheeks, beautifully cooked and presented and my companions had the warm lamb salad, which was also full of interesting ingredients. Beer on draft and wine by the glass...or bottle. We noticed the local fishermen were in - its like a good village pub, and we noticed some very large pizzas going out too.More

The best pizzas I have tasted in Iceland, I highly recommend the Lobstertail pizza and the lamb salad! Also the fish of the day looked really good and the waitress told me it’s locally sourced both meats and fish they offer🙌🏼

I am wondering whether this café understands the definition of a customer... We had to wait at least 5 minutes in an empty restaurant and we were not able to have a table for two for any reason. To have a monopolist situation after 6...PM doesn’t help to offer a good service.More

We’re really sorry you had to wait 5 minutes. If you were not able to get a table the most likely reason is due to COVID rules people had to reserve tables in advance. Like most restaurants we had to make sure to have sufficient...More

Café Riis is a cozy, wooden, old-style restaurant at Hólmavìk. I had a lunch here in August and ordered the soup of the day, along with a lamb salad which I shared with my husband. The servings were good, I dare say abundant, as I...would have found difficult to finish the lamb alone after the soup. Quality and flavour were good and the service was fine.More

We had a lunch there after a great whales watching. The food is good and the staff friendly. We tasted the lamb and the seafood plate.

A very nice, friendly restaurant in the heart of the nice little town of Holmavik. Nice varied menu.

In fact, it is the only restaurant in Holmavik, but they don’t play on that. The food was local, good, in quantity, quickly served, and really looked fresh. Even pizzas for the kids. One of out bests in Iceland, so I recommend.
