Restaurant Avsenik - home of Slovenian tradition. The restaurant Avsenik is well known for its good, home-made, traditional Slovenian cuisine. Our chefs can also prepare other international delicacies, as guests from all over the world come to our restaurant. We are proud that the story of a restaurant with a long tradition continues, but at the same time, it also changes with modern times.

Nice terrace and hearty meals

The terrace of this old and famous restaurant is large and offers nice shade. The waitress was very friendly and cheerful, and the food is always good. The fried chicken is excellent, and pasta served in a frying pan was good, too. The only thing is that they close early in the afternoon (at 4) during the week, so if you want to eat a late lunch, you might find a closed door.

The best fried chicken :)

This is the pne of the best Slo traditional restaurant with traditional food and music. We eat great fried chicken with potato, soup and it was njamiiiii. Also staff is wearing traditional SLO dress so the whole ambient is very friendly and slovenian type ❤.

The food was ok (average), nothing special. Pancakes with nutella were great :) . The atmosphere is nice, with Avsenik music (but near the road). We expected better food based in the reviews here.

The best in the area

This is the best place to go for traditional Slovenian food. The menu is rich, the food is delicious, and with the music, it does not get more traditional than this. Highly recommended!

Great music yummy food!

Awesome evening of fun live traditional music, great atmosphere with spectators also dressed in traditional dress! Food was also super yummy, huge portions, great value for your money, and a really delicious Slovenian red wine to top it all off! Thanks!

This is home of good food and music

Restaurant or. Gostilna "Pr Jozevc" (in Slovenian language) is one of traditional Slovenian restaurant in Upper Carniola region near Lake Bled. Name Avsenik in music means a lot in Slovenia and in the world. It's one of the most famous knowen oberkrainer music band. Reservation in advance is good but not necessary. We eat typical home made food name shephard plate (see picture below). Food has a good and homemade taste. Interior is very nice and typical furnished with wood and fireplace. Toilets was clean but old looking. Outside thay have a big terrace with a lot of tables to seat and mini stage too. Inside the house thay have a bigger place for concerts too. There national television recording theirs oberkrainer music show named Slovenski pozdrav (Greetings from Slovenia). There is Avsenik museum too. I really recommend this gostilna for Slovenian and other visitors. Enjoy like we did.

As it was written in a title, it is a home of a Slovene biggest music legend of all times - Slavko Avsenik and his band. World wide known restaurant and it really is the best. The best!

Wonderful staff, very helpful and very professional. excellent food and very good value. We were invited to a traditional dance night including dinner which was very entertaining, well worth a visit, 20 minutes from Bled.

Avsenik is fine local inn. It has big inner room with a stage and huge garden, small playground for children and interesting museum about Avsenik ensemble, famous Oberkrainer musicians, popular in the middle of Europe and around the world with their piano accordion from Slavko Avsenik and singing. Service is not the best on the world, furniture needs some refreshment. Food? It is very good when you stay with Slovenian food.

Traditional and very tastefull food and ambient!

Amazing food, high quality and good prices. Not to mention the kind staff and beautiful ambient. It's very traditional, perfect for everyone - sole travelers, couples, families and larger groups. I adored the natural tastes, the quantity was perfect, I just can't wait to come back. When u leave this restaurant you defenitely get the traditional slovenian taste and hospitality. We loved it <3

Don't mix between food and music

We were advised but didn't listen. We should. On Wednesday and Fridays, the restaurant hosts local music bands featuring local folklore and dancing music. Entry fee is 10 euros per person!! We don't speak the language nor familiar with the songs and music so our ability to enjoy was very (very) limited. The noise (aka music) also makes it difficult to speak and enjoy the company and the food. The food was OK. the dessert was good. As a tourist attraction can be avoided.
