Very good food, fast service and a nice location. The menu on their current website is obsolete and no longer available. The new menu is rather small and doesn´t offer as many dishes. We tried three main courses, the salmon, the lobster pasta and the centrum burger. All the dishes were very good and tasty, the only downside was that the lobster pasta didn´t have much lobster. They only have one dessert, a rather good creme brulee. The table service was fast and the staff kept us feeling very comfortable the whole time. The restaurant is located on the main shopping street in Akureyri and is also a very busy bar, so there is loud music and drunk people around.

Most restaurants were closed when we stopped for lunch in Akureyri, and we had a hard time finding a place that didn't just do burgers and panini. The food was decent, although quite heavy and very salty. The servers though (with the exception of a friendly East European man) were very grumpy.

We came upon the restaurants when they were full. After walking a full circle, we came back. We were looking for simple fish choices. No fusion. This eatery offered beer, wine, cocktails, fries, burgers, fish, pizza, chicken tenders. One can say this is touristy because locals may look for international food. We did not want BBQ, sushi or curry. If you have just arrived and need a drink and food for the whole family, including the picky eaters, a friendly server will take care of you and yours.

I would give zero stars if I could. The place was busy in the evening, but the hostess sat us at the bar. 30 minutes later, no server had even looked at us to ask about drinks, menus, etc. They took the order of the people next to us and didn't even look at us. We ended up walking out of the place, and instead went to a great little falafel fast food place around the corner.

My girlfriend and I went to this place to have a nice dinner during the easter weekend and we were not dissapointed. We got the 4 course easter set menu and had a glass each of chardonnay with the first starter and then shared a good bottle of merlot that the waiter reccommended to pair with the main and second appitizer. The first course was salmon donut served with an amazing green sauce/purée. The donuts themselves did not taste a lot like salmon and were a bit doughy/tasting of flour, but the concept was really nice and the sauce was excellent! After that we had one of the best beef tartars I have ever had, it was served with some vegatable crisps and parmesan and it was very well seasoned. Then came the lamb sirloin served with salt baked celeriac, artichoke trio and mashed potatoes. We were not asked how we would like the lamb cooked. It came medium/medium well and was a bit overcooked for my liking but still good. Finally came the dessert which was crème brûlée. It had a slight orange flavor and my girlfriend (who is french) said that that would make it crema catalana/crema cremada (catalonian/spanish) and not crème brûlée (french). Regardless of country of origin it was very good! Overall a wonderful experience with good service, good food and a nice atmosphere. The menu also had a good variety of different foods.

They made great cocktails and had great appetizers. I tasted both the garlic shrimp and the beef tartar and both were heavenly. I was also very happy that they could make my favorite cocktail for a reasonable price. The staff was also very nice and sitting outside in the warm weather with nice music was a good experience

Pleasant dinner with friends in the center of Akureyri. Modern place, we ordered a lobster bisque, the fish dish of the day including some vegetables, a dessert, a beer for a total of 80 euros. Good food, in line with other Icelandic restaurants.

We went in there because it was the only restaurant in the area that we found open after 9pm. I had a great burger, and everyone else said they enjoyed their food. We also had breakfast there as they are affiliated with the guesthouse we were staying in. I would also recommend the breakfast

on the main drag of Akureyri, a quiet and gently presented restaurant with a very good chef. Inside is low light and the welcome is simple but warm. Good chilled beer. cocktails and wine all available, but not tried. They had burgers on the menu... They also had a chef.. Aside of the yank crowd -pleasers, they had the fresh fish of the day. This is what Iceland is all about!! Cod fillets with charred carrot and broccoli served on a bed of barley with a celeriac puree... "Back of the net".. "Slam dunk" cooking as some in the media say... I cannot remember eating better cod in my life. Delicious, moist and perfect with a sublime, if unpredictable accompaniment. A lime quarter was there for the final perfect sprinkle of juice to squeeze over the generous fillet. OK Sweet. Only one of us tried a "pud" Lava Cake......... Levels of chocolate and citrus to ruin you. Great stuff. Nice guy looked after us. Don't come here and eat burgers Eat Real and let the chef please you with serious quality food. Cod was about £26 each. I will return

On our first night in Akureyri we had no set plans, so wandered down the streets and found Centrum. They were full when we arrived but we were seated at the bar and had a great dinner. We shared the hot Camembert and then each had a bowl of wonderful black squid linguine with langoustine on our waiter’s recommendation. It was superb. All washed down with Boli on draft.

Great meal and decent prices. We went on a weekday evening at around 7:30pm and it was nice and quiet, lovely atmosphere and good service. We got the langoustine soup and camembert for starters and both were very good, the soup was big portion with serving of bread. For main we had chicken tacos and the centrum burger and both were really tasty, tacos were nice and fresh and the burger was reallllly yummy, perfectly cooked too. The portions are big here so I would suggest maybe sharing a starter and then get a main each, we couldn’t finish everything haha Really liked it here :)

In the middle of town, lively bar and restaurant. Food was delicious - lobster soup, huge prawn salad starter, catch of the day for mains. All beautifully presented and scrumptious. Service was rather slow - but is easy to fix - be more attentive to those sitting down. Don’t be clearing empty tables when no one is waiting for a table. Getting cutlery while the food has arrived took 2 efforts. A quick fix on service would make this experience 5 star. Shame the service lets down the food experience.

This was our second choice restaurant. Our first choice Kaffi Ilmur was serving a brunch buffet. Luckily they let us look before buying this buffet was similar to most hotel breakfasts. Instead we chose this restaurant. My husband order the soup and I had the garlic shrimp small plate. My dish had 8-10 shrimp- very decent with a few red tomatoes and garlic slivers. We were given a few slices of bread and we enjoyed a draft Einstok Pale Ale with lunch. Would go back and try something different next time.x

Nicely done interior. Try to sit in the bustling front rather than the back room, which looks a bit dark. Staff was outstanding. The cod was the best fish we had in our 12 days in Iceland, and we ordered a lot of fish. An 8 month old was with us and she fit in well. A note here. We went to perhaps 20 restaurants in our Iceland trip, including those ranked best in towns, and she was welcome everywhere. Every restaurant had clean safe high chairs and we could fit in her stroller.

Sunday lunch on cool & gray afternoon. Welcoming & helpful staff. Comfortable seating by window. Local, seasonal ale. Excellent langoustine soup -- ordered one bowl to share & served with 4 slices of crusty bread-and-butter. Two entrees: fried crispy skin arctic char (baby potato & charred cauliflower) and roasted fish of the day arctic ling. Both excellent, flawlessly prepared. No room for dessert. ( note, we intended to be repeat diners at Strikd but their brunch was fully booked, this Centrum substitute was VERY pleasant surprise )
