Food was very good and service personal. Pricy but worth it. Really recommended when you are in Akureyri.

The sushi served here are Icelandic styled. They primarily use local fish such as arctic chad, yellowfin tuna, and cod. They also make quite original and fun sushi such as deep fried maki or sushi with squid ink, or they even use mango. It’s very...tasty and a quite fun experience. Great service. Price is very expected for a sushi place so quite steep but not overkill by Icelandic standards.More

We went to this restaurant due to great Google recommendations. We came very late in the evening without a booking. It appeared that this evening was some special day for Icelandic people, and the restaurant was full. However, they managed to give us a table...and very quick service. We ordered various sushi rolls and sushi pizza. Actually we were very sceptic because sushi pizza sounded like some cheap thing for kids. It was very good and not like a regular pizza :) the sushi quality is high here, based on fresh and good quality fish. The sushi style is Nordic style and not Japanese. However, it tastes good! Service was excellent, and fair wine prices. A lot of reviews comment that this place is expensive. It is not. We paid around 140 Euro for a good bottle of riesling, 2 glass of riesling plus 8 dishes. Anything like this would be far more expensive in the other Nordic countries. Good quality fish is never cheap. If you like fish and enjoy quality food, you will probably enjoy this restaurant.More

Lunch buffet offers an extensive choice of sushi, cooked meat, fish, vegetables, salad and noodles, water and coffee included. Food quality was excellent. Dishes on the buffer table replenished frequently. About £20 per person. Good value for money.

Dining is expensive anywhere in Iceland, so the service level is paramount to a fine dining restaurant. It was raining/snowing really hard that night and we lived in the hotel across the street. Perfect place to get something to eat. Initially trying JP food in...Iceland was not our first choice, but Rub 23 did not disappoint us. Everything is nicely cooked and presented, and the service was very good. As JP food lovers, we are surprised that we could find this kind of quality JP food here, not authentic but full of Icelandic character. Make sure you make reservations.More

If you're looking for something different, you need to try Rub 23's sushi pizza! Made with fresh arctic char, the dish is light and flavourful. The decor of the restaurant is quite nice and the staff were professional. I tried their wasabi cocktail sour and...it was also delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!More

While touring the wonderful country of Iceland, we had the good fortune of being treated to a fine, fine dinner at Rub23. Dining almost anywhere in Iceland is expensive so you can count on it here too. However, the food here was as good as...I have had anywhere. We would definitely return.More
