Location and contact

Greifinn is without doubt one of the most popular restaurant in Akureyri . The menu is varied and the prices are moderate. Greifinn is ideal for individuals, groups and families that want to relax over food and drink. We make a point of running a family-friendly restaurant. A diverse menu is on offer with a wide choice of meat and fish courses as well as pasta and some of the most highly praised pizzas in Iceland.

Lots of dining options to accommodate families. Interesting and classic international items, and various dining areas. Very good service!

Last two times I wrote about Greifinn I was very disappointed. However, it looks like things are mowing in the right direction. I went there yesterday with my family and the food was very nice. I had a burger with Bearnaise, mushrooms and onion. I...More

I went with my family to the restaurant after driving to Akureyri from Reykjavík. We ordered hamburger and were disappointed with the food. The hamburger came olny with cheese. The chips were cold and the last hamburger came when others were finishing eating. After complaining...More

A local favourite - very popular restaurant with an extensive menu. The lamb steak is the best I have ever eaten. Not to be missed. Good sized portions and reasonable prices.

Fabulous food, family friendly, and we went on the walking and food tout. Not way too expensive and good value for money

Made the mistake of eating here on a Sunday evening in Akureyri. This is very much a “family restaurant”, which is a euphemistic expression for loud and unruly children. I measured the decibel level at between 75 and 80, making it all but impossible to...More

We ended up at Greifinn on New Year's Day as it was one of the only restaurants open in town. We were seated quickly and service was efficient despite the crowd. We ended up sharing an appetizer and salad because of the generous portion sizes....More
