One of the many ice cream parlors in the city, this is the oldest of all. Its quite popular among locals, and you can find many families enjoying late night on weekends. Even in freezing cold.

Tucked away farther away from the center, we spotted it on our way to the Akureyri Museum. The stand-alone ice cream parlor is easy to spot with its huge red wall sign as you approach its corner. I had the simple vanilla soft served topped...More

I came here for the famous ice cream. It was ok, but I wouldn’t have said it was anything particularly special. It was dipped in warm chocolate which froze, however it made the ice cream very difficult to eat and it went everywhere! So messy....More

Brynja was a pleasant surprise to find. I do love ice cream, and this one is very good. I'm more partial to hand-dipped rather than soft-serve, though. The vanilla that my husband ordered was actually better than my chocolate. The vanilla tasted like home-made ice...More

we took a quick rain break here. Otherwise, not really a main attraction for anyone visiting the town. Soft serve in the gas stations are just as good.

What a wonderful find. This soft serve ice cream place was so yummy and uniquely creamy! Endless amounts of toppings to choose from. I'm not vegan but would recommend trying the vegan Lime soft serve, its like sorbet but was so tasty and tangy.

Lots of ice cream flavours to choose from, the smallest cup was too much to eat after a meal but still it's worth a visit! We ended up there after a long day of rafting and it was a very good choice, definitely recommended
