Nice place to eat right across from our hotel. really a neat looking building. Four of us had dinner here and most of us had the fish and chips. Good service and pretty good fish.

The waitress (with red hair) was extreamly arrogent and jerk. The waiter and the others were kind, the food was good, but this unacceptable behavior completely spoiled the experience :(

Having explored the town decided needed lunch. Creamy fish soup on the menu sealed the deal. We sat in the conservatory. The soup did not disappoint ~ salmon, prawns, two different white fish and potatoes with herbs ~ accompanied by focaccia type bread. Friendly service.

The food wasn’t good and absolutely not tasty, and was very artificial, oily and heavy, particulary the chicken pasta. The pasta was floating in some white thick sauce without any taste, with some oil and few cubes of chicken ( I can only hope it...was a real chicken…) Definietly not worth the money. Tastes basicaly the same like instant pasta from grocery store.More

Ate here a few times during our stay in Akureyri, it was opposite our hotel. The food was good, the service quick, but not hurried and the staff were very friendly. We can recommend the chicken and waffle, the crispy chicken and the burgers are...good. Reasonable prices for Iceland too. We would eat here again.More

Really nice meal for lunch, relaxed and super friendly service. Had the fish tacos and kimchi burger and both were really nice, sauce on the tacos was really tasty. You can see the kitchen and service area from the dining room so you know everything...is cooked to order and fresh. We went at around 3pm and it was relatively quiet so the service was very attentive and quick. Definitely recommend coming here for a meal :) Everything tasty and good portions! You get 3 tacos but I ate one before I took a picture hahaMore

Visited in early January, had wonderful service and delicious home style food! Both burgers were great! Cost roughly £45 for two burgers and two soft drinks so great value for money too in Iceland

Absolutely incredible food with a wide variety to suit people wanting to try a new cuisine or stick with what they know! The staff were pleasant and extremely helpful. Kids had burgers and chicken and myself and my wife had the Bautinn Fish Soup on...both visits (in 3 days) which was fantastic. Missing the food already!More

Came in with wife and toddler to get a quick meal, or that's what I thought. Haven't been at Bautinn for over 10 years and now I reckon why... We got our food more than 30 minutes after we ordered, at a relatively quiet lunch...time on a Monday. We got fish soup which was even not worth waiting for. It is advertised "plentyful", meaning satiating, but it only contained a few pieces of fish. It it was quite peppery. I would have imagined something so unenthusiastic and sloppy like this a decade ago but not in 2024. And no, I was not in a bad mood entering this establishment. Not coming back I'm afraidMore

Came here for dinner - we ordered the pulled pork burger and the tiger prawn salad. The pulled pork burger was decent, came with fries. The tiger prawn salad however was not quite what I expected - tiger prawns are significantly larger / different species...from the smaller shrimp (see photo) - nonetheless they added quite a lot of it to make it I suppose. Otherwise it was an okay meal - service was okay too (we read recent bad reviews, don't see why this was this case). P.S. If you want the salad to be "healthy" as described, ask for no mayonnaise.More

When in Iceland, which is fabulous, always get your receipts in eating establishments. This was one place that I did not get a receipt. So, when I went to my credit card app, I noticed the charge. My wife and I had a classic cheeseburger,...pulled pork sandwich, 2 orders of fries, a Pepsi and water. Our bill, as per my credit card app, was $81.99. When you look at their menu, it should have been closer to $66.60, STILL VERY EXPENSIVE, even for Iceland. Food was average.More

bad place to eat in akureyri. The burger is dry and not very tasty and the fries with it came in one big chunk. The people on the next table seemed pretty pissed about the pizza.... Plus way too overpriced even for iceland I walked...out of there mad as hellMore

Disappointing visit ..Sirloin steak extremely tough and lamb chops were overcooked and dry. Service fine. Maybe ok if you just have a burger. Nothing traditionally Icelandic on the menu anymore which is a shame. Visited some years ago and it was a real gem of...a place with local food. They clearly know that people are just visiting Akureyri for one night and moving on so will never come back...a sad way to run a business!More

Service was super slow, the place was packed, but even considering that. We must have chosen the worst dishes from the menu, the ribs and the salmon. Salmon was ok, but the sides were horrible and there was barely any feta in the feta salad....Ribs were super dry and you had to look for the meat. For this price, even in Iceland, this felt like bit of a robbery. I hope their other portions are better.More
