Lots and lots of hot dogs. A whole bunch of different options and toppings available. Opted for the one with egg on top. It was great. They also have Coke Zero, which is a nice bonus. The hot dog was great, the service was fast...and friendly and they have plenty of seating. Great chance to sit down, take a break, and enjoy some midday people watching.More
We just had to try this hot dog stand in the center of Akureyri and definitely didn't regret it. Great choices (also vegan!) with some crazy toppings (blue cheese with pecan nuts and jam!!). So good we went back a second time. Definitely check it...out when visiting Akureyri!More
Pretty good hot dogs with a large variety to choose from. I didn't know you could have such a menu in a hot dog stand. Grilled, boiled, with vegetables, with bacon and many others. There are also great vegan options. The staff are very friendly....Great hotdogs at the right price.More
Shout out to the owner: She is incredibly kind and helpful. I left my credit card in the machine when I went to grab my hot dog and ten minutes later she had tracked me down in a bakery down the street where I was...grabbing hot chocolate.
The pylsar: in America the closest word we would have is hot dog for this lamb hot dog. Incredible flavor. The toppings on all options are amazing. I had the “black sheep” and red cabbage pyslars. The fried onion and pylsusinnep (Iceland mustard) is amazing and the pickled red cabbage was unexpectedly savory.
Portion: I would buy two per person. The dogs run a little thin but they’re very affordable.More
... real hot dog, or pylsa as they say here in Iceland. A huge selection of pylsa with different side-orders. I took pylsa with sweet and sour pickled cucumber, what a treat, my wife took pylsa with red cabbage. Much food, and very tasty, for...a small amount of icelandic kronor. You should go there if you are in Akureyi or passning by.More
This quirky food stand is located right off the main road in the city. The baked bean and cabbage mustard dogs are the best. The prices were reasonable for Iceland. Really hit the spot after traveling far to Akureyri.
We traveled all around Iceland for 2 weeks. Our first stop was in the village of Akureyri. On a whim one night we stopped by to eat here. It was very affordable and I can say that it is the best hotdog in the western...half of the country. We stopped by several hotdog stands in Iceland and none of them compared to this stand. I miss it so much already.More
