Wanted to get a real feeling for local cities off the tourist attractions and found this nice cafe in Akranes. Located in the city center in front of a nice public "park" with view to the harbor. Friendly staff, excellent coffee and cakes.

Stopped off here for a light lunch as part of our road trip from Reykjavik. Very friendly place with simple tasty light bites such as soup and sandwiches. A really tempting selection of cakes to go with your coffee too!

Good for your early morning cappuccino and a read of the newspapers. Lots of calorific baked goods and desserts if you're tempted too. Staff very courteous and chatty! Cosy spot and good coffee.

Even though Akranes definitely needs a café, I still feel it's pretty bad. The service is always pretty bad whenever I visit, not too pricey but not cheap at all, and it just.. Smells weird.
