A perfect place for lunch in the open on a sunny day. Service was friendly and quick, food tasted fine and the bill amounted only to 22 euros including wine and their own ice cream with fresh berries. Views from the terrace are over the tamed rapids, water is also visible from the cozy interior of the restaurant.

Basic food, lacking taste and salt. The teryaki salmon could have been fron a lunch list, unsurprisinig and tasteless. For the price (27,50) it was a truedissapointment. The suggested matching wine would have needed a better dish to pair with.. Service was nice.

We had a family dinner at Tampella and it was just perfect. 3 course meal for all of us. Our son took care of the meats, the rest of us enjoyed the fish and vegetatble options. All of the dishes were perfect, the decour was beautiful and the staff lovely and friendly. We enjoyed everything and will defenately recommend the restaurant.

As soon as we entered the restaurant I noticed that it was almost full and quite noisy. We were greeted by a young man who said almost nothing and was borderline rude. He took us to our table.
We were a group of 8 friends and we were seated next to a party of 20 people. We sat in the far corner with nice views of the river. However, the brick and glass walls made the acoustic terrible. The party of 20 persons was extremely loud and most of the time we could not hear each other speak. We commented to the waiter and she said that she would open up the glass walls but it did not help. She did not ask the other guests to respect our dinner experience.
The hay smoked salmon starter lacked in taste but the lamb main was delicious. The wine pairing was good as well. The prices are quite high compared to the dish sizes. The noise was unbearable and therefore I will not be returning nor recommending this restaurant. I want to enjoy my dinner without excess noise and be able to talk to my companions.

We went there for dinner with our boys (4 and 7). The staff ist very friendly and attentive. The food for the kids was freshly made and very good quality. I was pleasantly surprised. Our food was excellent. I would suggest to take a starter as the mains are not too big. I had fish and my husband beef and both meals were of high qualtity perfectly cooked. I would definitely go there again. It was a very nice experience. To be more precise, this is not an average restaurant. It’s definitely sophisticated and delicate cooking in a relaxed yet chic atmosphere.

Tampella has an excellent location next to Tammerkoski. We visited on a February evening, which meant that the terrace was naturally impossible to use. Besides, we had difficulties when entering the restaurant: the road is slighly downhill and it was icy and very slippery.
The restaurant is situated in old industrial premises, which have been modified into a simple and elegant restaurant.
The menu offers a sufficient number of choises. The Finnish names are probably connected to some previous remarkable persons or places. Perhaps the next menu could contain a line or two to describe this connection.
The courses have been prepared with many unfamiliar incredients probably aiming at fine-dining. Personally I enjoyed the oxtail starter. Other courses were also tasty but not as memorable.
The service was carried out without any hurry or delay but with quite a many "Everything okay?" or "Did you like it?" inquiries.

Main reason I gave such a negative score is because of the poor service we received. I dont mean it as the waiter was disrespectful or anything but after eating our main dishes we had to wait a decently long time for our waiter but that was just the start. It took us over 30 minutes after getting our desserts to be brought a receipt and that was only after I went to ask for it. After asking for the receipt we still had to wait for a while before it was finally brought to us and for some reason after the waiter brought us the receipt he just left us with the receipt and never came back to actually take the payment. After getting fed up of all the waiting I had to go ask from the bar if I could finally pay for the food and the other waiter I had asked before for the receipt said that he completely forgot about us. Such bad service doesnt really make me want to come back.
As for the food, both of our main dishes were good. I had the pork and my partner had the risotto. Pork dish overall was very good but the grilled salad was kind of random and difficult to eat and the pepper glaze on the pork was good but a bit too strong for my liking. The parsnip puree was very good.
As for dessert the fruit and icecream one was very good and especially the muscovado icecream was delicious. My desser was the appleposset, not sure if that is how you say it in english. It fell a bit short for me, it was unbalanced and mainly just reminded me of apple jam which as the main taste isnt really that inviting.
Even if the food was mainly very good, not counting the one dessert, I still dont think I want to come back after that bad of a service. At such a pricepoint having to deal with such lazy service is very disappointing.

My first trip to Finland, we were hosted here. There were two or three Finnish beef options, and an Australian beef option. I opted for reindeer shank and it was very tender and flavorful. Paired with the suggested merlot, I enjoyed the meal very much. Waitress was very attentive and informative. Well worth a visit.

I was there on 8th of March with my work collegues. Since we entered the atmosphere was nice and our lady waitress was very attent with us. She was explaining with big pleasure the menu and helped us to choose the right wine. She knows how to joke and maintain a nice atmosphere all eveining. The food was excellent made, good taste, and the waitress explained the food to us very well. We had a very nice evening and we will comeback !
When we left we were helped to order a taxi and our lady waitress came to greet us,
Perfect restaurant ! I was knowing the restaurant actually from my first visit in Tampere from 2018.

We had an exceptional business dinner with a diverse team consisting of a Finn, a Japanese colleague, an Englishman, and a Brazilian on Thursday evening. The entire experience exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish perfectly balanced and flavorful.
The service was nothing short of excellent. Our waitress was not only attentive and knowledgeable but also incredibly personable. She went above and beyond, engaging us in a lively discussion about Tampere’s unique culture and local slang, making our international group feel more connected to the city. We even had a fun conversation about the perfect wine pairings with our dishes, which really added to the overall experience.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it the perfect venue for a business dinner. We left thoroughly impressed and would highly recommend this place for both professional and personal gatherings.

It might be the besdt place to eat in all of Tampere. Ther chefs really knows what they are doing. Expanded my menu this evening and the starters didn't disapoint either. Bokk a table, especially on the weekends as this place seems to be very popular.

Highly recommended
The restaurant is very well located with superbe views of the river and the town.
The food is excellent and the wine suggestions accompanying each dish are well chosen.
The staff is wonderful. Warm, knowledgeable and helpful. And so patient with my five-nager!

Tastless food
We have visited restaurant few times. Normally food is quite ok.
Last (will be last) time the food was totally tasteless.
Management was ignorant to the feed back

At lunch in absolutely fantastic weather on the Tampella terrace. The water flows almost next to it and the views are nice. Quite comfortable and the service very friendly, as surprisingly generally everywhere in Tampere. The interior of the restaurant was airy and fresh, probably it would be nice to have a snack here in the cold. But the lunch, or to be more precise, the shrimp pasta....oh my gosh, it was an unfortunate act. There were no shrimps to be seen, only brown broth, which although tasted just fine, splashed on top of the pale pasta and a few green stalks on top of the whole beauty. At least the lunch companion's salad looked good.

After several stays in Tampere, I can write without hesitation that this restaurant is, to date, the best I have tried. The setting, warm, spacious and well located on the river, is particularly pleasant. The service is up to par, relaxed but efficient. The food is good, including desserts, something extremely rare in Finland, and the wine list is up to par. Obviously, the prices are quite high, but nothing prohibitive compared to other addresses either. We understand the success of this establishment and it is also advisable to make reservations. In short, I highly recommend!
