Kauppahalli is one of the most interesting and unique place in Turku. Of course the whole city is full of monuments and interesting placese such as museums and castle or churches and parks but there you can go no matter the weather and you can find plenty of great food, both international and local. Fresh fish place is my favourite.... More

Some bakeries and coffee shops open at 8 already. And coffee/ irnage juice/ cinnamon bun and bun came at decent price in a nice relaxed setting. You see all shops preparing for the day, business people scurrying by... better than any hotel breakfast!

In a guide book we've read that for a good and cheap lunch it's best to go to a market place - it was true. We've had some salmon, boiled vegetables and a black sausage, and payed altogether 10e. Also, the atmosphere is magical, and you can see it's mostly locals coming to eat here.

Eating in a Finnish Food Hall has been a highlight of our trip. This hall was one of the better ones with a good selection of local dishes and delicious things to take home for supper. We ate lunch at Kotilounas - serves the local buffet lunch. For under 7 Euro we had salad, salmon soup and coffee/tea. Bon appetit.

Fantastisk place in the heart of Tampere. If you need fresh meat, fish, cheeze, bread, vegetables or even hand made products, you will find it all in Kauppahalli. And the best part is that they have some really nice restaurants inside there also. Everything in one place. Opening hours could be longer.

Good home made lunch with reasonable prices. Lindströmin stakes were good and boys enjoyed their sausage soup! Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Remember to check out the daily offers.
