The place is always full, which tells that the food is good. You will get the tasty entree salad before the main course (except if you have been taking the soup).

Had a lovely mackerel dish at this quaint little place inside the market in Tampere. Ratatouille served with the fish was fabulous! And they also served bread n salad as a starter, nice touch! Polite staff. Highly recommended.

I would've rated this restaurant the best one for lunch still a year ago, but now the quality has gone down and prices up. The side salad is not fresh and several lunch dishes I've tasted during the past year have lacked taste. So unfortunately would pick another place for next lunch.

Old market hall in the heart of Tampere is must to visit. Four season restaurant is there. Lunch kwas okei, but did not meet our expectstions this time. We took fish selection portion. Too much cold potatos and not enough fish. French restaurant atmosphere is gone, which there was last time we visited.

A very nice but a bit of a well hidden place inside the Tampere markethall. Excellent food and service, maybe the best overall lunch in Tampere.

My husband found this place by a chance and convinced me to go and eat something before our two hour drive home. He said they had hot dogs so I had quite low expectations. But after sharing the vegetarian egg Benedictine and a raw sausage hotdog I simply had to buy several raw sausages to take home as well. The... More

I visited this restaurant 10 years ago and enjoyed speaking French with the owner-chef. My wife and I stopped for lunch on Friday (Feb 19) and had a very good meal with a glass of wine. Spoke to the owner and his English chef as well as a Greek chef who trained in Paris for 5 years. The Kauppahalli is... More

Had lunch today with a friend at Tampere's beautiful kauppahalli (market hall). The kauppahalli itself is an institution which breathes and lives tradition and delicious food. 4 Vuodenaikaa is a French restaurant inside the market hall. The bouillabaisse was simply amazing and i will return for sure when in Tampere next time.

Delicious bouillabaisse, a must try while visiting Tampere's kauppahalli. Great place for a lunch, although quite busy during weekdays.

Thank Liz U

Small authentic French-Finnish bistro in the 115 years old market hall of Tampere. Typical French bistro style lunch meals prepared with Finnish ingredients from the market hall. We speak English, French and Swedish.
