Kolme kruunua, "Three Crowns", has a traditional Finnish menu with tasty meat and fish dishes. I chose reindeer stew, my friends had whitefish and duck. Everyone was quite content. This evening there was even live piano playing which made the atmosphere even cosier than usual.

Food was ok, nothing special, but decently priced. After dinner, our daughter (very well-behaved that evening, no crying etc.) just strolled around the restaurant, smiling and laughing with everyone. We were first told by one of the waiters - in Finnish! - we should stop her from walking about as it was dangerous - he could stumble over her. Try... More

I wish it had been the last, as I went somewhere that was nowhere near as good for the last meal and regretted it. I was accompanied by two Finnish friends who had suggested this place. It's such a nice location near a bay and marina and is also easily accessible to the centre by public transport. We had a... More

I've spent a week in Helsinki for a meeting. Besides the many small food stalls in the port, this old restaurant kindled my interest as soon as I read the menu. I had some pork stew, whereas my wife had meatballs; everything was very good, and despite the overall quality (and quantity) the whole dinner was cheaper than many burger... More

This was a great find in Helsinki. The restaurant is small but quietly elegant. There are traditional dishes as well as more European choices. The wine list s good with many international choices. The service was excellent. The reindeer tenderloin as wonderful. Don't miss the Finnish French toast for desert,

A pleasure from the moment you enter, good service from real people, who feel part of the place, and a traditional menu, honestly prepared, no fashionable food, comforting, friendly, relaxing, cosy, and one to treasure. A neighbourhood restaurant, a rare pleasure.

We enjoyed our first Finnish meal here when we arrived in Helsinki and were really happy with our experience. Both the food and service were really good. I had reindeer and my fiancée had meatballs. The portions were huge. We had a couple of local beers as well, which were very good. Prices were very reasonable.

Kolme kruunua (Three Crowns) is located at the vicinity of the city centre in Helsinki, in Liisankatu. This restaurant serves traditional Finnish foods that vary from fish to meat (not too much vegetarian stuff). It has a reputation as a traditional place. Portions are large: I tasted chicken which was ok but not really superb. The atmosphere is traditional and... More

I had meatballs; they were overall good, but not great. The rainbow tenderloin was much better but it only had 2 pieces of meat. Each was about 5-6 inches long (12.5-13 cm), about 3/4-1 1/2 inches (2-3.75 cm) wide, and 1/2-1 inch (1.25-2.5 cm) thick. So, not much meat.
