If you wanna have the "experience of you life" what comes either to russian food or BEAR, Saslik is your selection. Really good & qualified russian food by all measurements. If I could give plus among those 5 stars, i would do it:)

With over 40 years of experience, Saslik definitely has its place among the Russian restaurants in Helsinki. The menu includes various traditional Russian dishes from pickled cucumber with honey and sour cream to blinis and various roasted meats - this is probably one of the few places in Finland where you can have bear. The overcooked elk was so tender... More

Four of us ate here on a Monday night when it is very quiet. Service was slow to an American but normal to our Finnish colleagues. Americans who are in a hurry should eat elsewhere but do come here if you plan to take tine to savor both the food and the company. They have a good choice of drinks... More

We have been here for a business meeting with 12 people. The atmosphere is dark and dusty. Starters were Blinis with salmon eggs. I expect Blinis to be thin and light, these were just potatoe cakes soaked in fat. Meat for the entree was cooked too long and soaked in a fat, tasteless cream. Same for the desert: masses of... Best Russian food in Scandinavia!! A place to not miss in Finland, the atmosphere is great, Russian music and the food is tremendous. The portions are gigantic and the Vodka degustation is a must do….go for it. Just one Portuguese red wine and not a really good one… everything else is a great, I come back year after year and... Food was delicious and plentiful. It was my first time trying blinis which I loved! Best part is the atmosphere - kitchy and quaint. A surprise is that even though we had a LOT of food leftover (portions are big!!), we were told it is illegal to take the food to-go. Language barrier made it hard for me to understand... More

I have visited Saslik many times over the years. It never disappoints. The food, atmosphere and service are top notch. Live music is always a great add as well. This time I visited with my Russian friend who was pretty impressed too. If you want a memorable night with Russian delicacies with scandinavian twist you should definitely visit here. Restaurant... We were planning to eat just across the road at Amigos- we hadn't booked and the maitre d'it was having none of it- we hadn't booked and basically get lost! A local chap suggested Saslik. Obviously we hadn't booked here either and were told they were full, then the head waiter said no one was in the presidentii room if... More

The food, place, service is good. Anyway, they want to sell a lot of vodka which is really expensive for a Russian restaurant.
