Be aware of the size

We visited this place while they were celebrating Halloween. The inside facilities of the restaurant are a bit too small, all the tables (maybe 5?) were already taken so we went to their temporary Cafe Horror for a cupcake instead (bloody brain, see picture) where the service was absolutely lovely. So we couldn't get the dinner we were craving for in Wanha Pehtoori which was disappointing only because there was no more room for us. Also the tables are a bit too low to eat comfortably, or so it seemed.

Surprise dinner

Went to Haltiala for other reasons but was delighted to see that good quality food was also available. Reasonable selection of beers. Entertainment for kids in the area if you want to chill for a while. Not the cheapest place but reasonable value.

Coffee

We visited the Haltiala farm today and after walking outdoors we decided to have coffee in the Wanha Pehtoori cafe. The staff was very friendly. Coffee and the baked goods were good and fresh. The decor of the cafe is just lovely. There are two cats in the cafe so if you're allergic this perhaps is not a place for you.

Tasty lunch and a great nature experience.

This place is great for casual lunch in excellent surroundings. The food is good enough but the personnel is above excellent! Young, friendly, smiling and so service-minded - it was such a pleasure to be there, these people will go far in their lives! And they are the reason to return.

Not child friendly

Nice farm

The cafe there serves surprising good food for a farm away from the city. Pony rides for the kid was very popular too.

Little gem nearby Helsinki

One of my favorites places in the summer. Nice outside table area that makes it also ideal for families as there is nice playground. Also dog-friendly. Nice food (bbq style) decent cool beer and relaxed atmosphere. And they have the best “Munkkis” in Finland! Also worths visiting in winter, it is very cozy inside and have quite nice menus on the weekends

Wanha Pehtoori lunch

Visited Wanha Pehtoori today for lunch. What a lovely, hot day out. Very busy, but managed to find seats outside. Other customers’ trays/food were left at the table and could not see a place where to take them. Table was also a bit dirty (ketchup etc.). Ordered food and that service was fast. Waited for food approx. 15 minutes. Was a bit disappointed when I received my order. I had ordered a chicken basket ’kanakori’, but when my food arrived there was just 1 piece of chicken on my plate and lots of potato wedges and a slice of watermelon. Certainly not a chicken basket like the name says.

Nice place to have summer time dinner

Lovely surroundings for summertime dinner. Close to airport so also good for a short stopover visit. Accessible by car and also has a free parking spot. The food is reasonable priced, sophisticated grill food. Portion size was big! Chicken was little bit dry, but all in all the food was tasty. Afterwards you can see the farm animals.

Bikers' event every Wednesday evening

Great place, actually the best one, to meet Finnish motorcycle enthusiasts every Wednesday starting at 6 pm. Bikes are old and new, coffee and doughnuts (together only 3€) only new! Try Biker's Burger for 5€ and you will be positively surprised. Great place year after year!

Lunch in the great Recreation area on the boarder to Vantaa.

We selected the souplunch which was a selection between either Seljanka soup or then Paprica soup. The spieces was not really the chefs strong side so you had to add some spices yourself!

Beautiful place to have a beer on a sunny day

Wanha Pehtoori, or Haltiala Farm, is a nice restaurant/café on a farm. It's a great place to walk by, bike, have a coffee/beer, or food. During the winter it is not open everyday, (be sure to check before going) but during the summer, and when the weather allows it, this place is a favourite from locals. There is a big outside space, plus you can relax inside the house if you wish.

One of the best places in Helsinki to relax

A lovely farm surrounded by fields. Before going in, take a walk nearby: you can choose from many routes either next to the river, in the field or in the forest. Though take into account that many of these paths are for skiing in winter. In the summer time there are a lot of farm animals to see - definitely a place to go with children (and without!). The best thing here is the fresh doughnots (munkki). Usually they are warm and just from the oven, even though in last summer we got disappointed a few times. You can also get a beer of 1 liter (how finnish is this!). The terrace is lovely in the summer. You can also get ice cream from a small kiosk or even grill your own sausages. The grill food is good, not spectacular. I recommend to have a burger, it is very good.

Just 10 min from Helsinki-Vantaa airport and 20 min from Helsinki downtown. During summer season beautiful calm Finnish farm scenery amongst farm animals and nice outdoor terrace. During Winter months delicious lunch at indoor wooden house Restaurant. As a local, I recommend!

Nice place for a little family trip

An ok place for a couple of hours trip with kids. Lots of farm animals to see and a pretty good lunch restaurant. Staff was not exactly smiling but not rude either. Tons of wasps last summer, that was quite annoying, so be careful if you are allergic. Also great places to go for walks with your dog.
