Pizza was huge and very tasty. Traditional "Finnish" style with a lot of Aurajuusto and pineapple. Service was quick and friendly. Beer was beer and there was a lot to choose from.
Visited this restaurant with some friends before x-mas. Local seems to be a bit historical, like the staff: unfriendly and way too slow moving, reminds me from my visits to old GDR-restaurants in late 80s. Their "marble fillet" from the menu appeared to be a...shoe sole, price + 30 euros. Take a walk to the downtown nearby, where you get value for your money.More
We walked around the corner from the National Museum and found this wonderful restaurant! We didn't need a reservation, we were seated and given ice water right away. The server took our order quickly and invited to go to a salad bar where there were...several salad selections and breads with butter. I was brave and ordered reindeer so that I could try it at least once in Finland. It was tender and delicious, served on real mashed potatoes with lingon berries. My meal was excellent! It was also very affordable - about 17 Euro.More
This legendary Helsinki restaurant is located in the beautiful Ostrobotnia building from 1912. Besides the traditional dishes like salmon soup, you can order also burgers and pizzas. The pizzas were huge and delicious. The service was very friendly.
Great menu, service and of course the delicious food, I truly recommend this restaurant for a visit!
Horrible, dull, tasteless, cheese was so disgusting. Even McDonald’s is better. Overpriced!!! 20e for this…
Food was OK, but the service was horrible. Waiters didn't even say hello and one of them burned my hands while giving me my plate. Didn't even say sorry, said it was my fault. Never ever going there again.
Unfortunately the worst meal I’ve ever had in the restaurant. I chose carp with summerpotatoes. There were 4 pale potatoes (not freshly cooked, hot) and a small bite of fish which was a little bit raw. My husband took a pizza, it was ok. The...personnel was kind but they didn’t ask anything about the food even though I couldn’t eat mine.More
I had an occasion to have several lunches at a row. Nice every time, and fast if in hurry. Popular during lunch time.
Had snails for starters and blinis for main course. Was happy with both. Calm environment to hang out with friends through the evening!
Visited this restaurant the first time as a friend had recommended it. We ordered beef tenderloins with cooking medium+... Well...they were more like medium- and one of us could eat only half of the meal. So...this was the bad part. The good part was the...service. In many cases where I have complained on the food quality, no reimbursements have been given. Here, at Manala, there were no question about it and I consider this as a sign of a restaurant policy which I strongly appreciate. So...even though my first visit was a disappointment, I will certainly give another chance to this restaurant because of the great service given.More
We both had the classic Manala menu which had also a discount to the price due to the on-going Lux light week here on Helsinki. They were out of reindeer but the beef balanced well also in the main. Creamy salmon soup was delicious and...warming, and the dessert pannacotta was good and not too sweet. We both hoped for more strawberries but understood they are hard to come by in January in Finland! :D All-in-all, a really good dinner and I could recommend this place for a tourist visiting Finland and looking for some typical Finnish cuisine in Helsinki. There's also pizza on the menu which are tasty, if you or someone in your party isn't keen on trying Rudolf the red nosed reindeer!More
Very nice and afordable meny. The best ceasar salad in Helsinki. A bit noisy now as it is the Christmasparty time and people are a bit tipsy. Famous old restaurant. Good locations and service. Deserts to die for
We booked table for 8 people, we had one extra addition, restaurant had no problem with that, extra seat found easily. Service: Satisfied, waitress continuesly came to table to ask any needs. Frequency was good. Food: satisfied to Manala Burger. Drinks: Ipa (US). We had...great evening on this place, good service and nice atmosphere.More
