We have eaten here often and we keep coming back for more. Friendly, efficient service. Fabulous fixed price lunch at €14.50 it includes 3 courses and wine. Quite a large choice, too, seasonal and local food "cooking like our grandmothers". Extremely popular, you will need...to book.More

Hard to beat La Pause for lunch. Set menu is €13 for a good choice of starter, main course and dessert. Wine and coffee inclus. Lovely staff and great ambience. Recommended.

Entree of terrine, steak and french fries, chocolate ice cream (2 scoops) and 1/4 liter of rosee wine for 16 Euro for a dinner... Hard to beat!

We have eaten at La Pause on countless occasions. The food is of high standard and consistently great value for money. The welcome is warm and in the summer it’s lovely to eat outside. Particularly recommend the chips cooked in duck fat, the steak, the...duck and the crudités starter (although the pate is also really good). Lunch is particularly good value with wine and coffee included. A memorable lunch was €110 euros for 10 people.More

This is a great place for drinks and food. The bartender/waiter spoke English and was super helpful with us foreigners. You'll have to get used to the times they serve food/dinner. Some of the places here only serve food later in the evening. But worth...the wait to just sit and enjoy your favorite drink before dinner.More

At the beginning we wanted to stop at Calvignac but the restaurant was closed. So we tried Cajarc as this city was not our expectation but we found "La Pause". Restaurants are bad noted in that city. I don't know because my wife and my...mom found it very good. Very good cheap package menu for 13 euros per person. Some food could be found in gastronomic but even at this price you have good quality with good rates. Honestly those kind of little restaurants should not be blamed. Find the same quality somewhere else. You have to pay more than 30 euros in that case. No no no. la Pause is nice. Staff is friendly even the owner is very fast during the service. Big thumb !More

For €13 you get a 3-course meal with wine and coffee. Simple, locally sourced food and quick service if you can grab a table. Understandably popular at lunchtimes with tourists and locals alike.

We waited half hour for our starter and for most of that time we were totally ignored and left without drinks or menu. The main took a further hour and a half to arrive. Starters were clearly from the supermarket (or in the 'crudite of...local vegetables' a damp lettuce leaf and half a tomato). The long awaited mains were cheap oven or pre cut chips and a piece of meat each, it must have taken all of ten minutes to prepare and cook so the wait was inexplicable. The staff were frankly rude. It's rare to find somewhere so poor in a French town in my experience.More

Great coffee and a lovely place to meet friends on a sunny market day when the colourful stalls are all around you. But also good for a warming chocolate chaud out of season. They do a good lunch for the workers of Cajarc, and visitors...to the town.More

...but don't expect something for nothing. Basic French cuisine as your mother cooked it, or so they say. Always busy, particularly with the lunch trade and with the main plate for E8 with a glass of wine or a café noir one can see why....The cheapest in town so that draws a crowd and the food is generally good wholesome food if a little 'ducky' but this is Quercy and the ducks have breasts like DP except they are real. Don't expect fine cuisine but the service is friendly and quick and for a quick cheap meal it is great place to go.More
