My favourite place in Västerås, great location, friendly staff, nice food. Great for a meal or just a drink. Nice place to hang out with family, friends, a date or even just alone to relax...

Lunch on a sunny bank holiday, quite crowded, outdoor tables were alla taken. Better so, the inside has personality. I had traditional fried herring+mash&bread+water, nearly 25 euros. I recommend the dish, the portion could have been bigger, though. Good location, a stone throw from station...and beach. Well clean restrooms. Quick and warm staff.More

Business lunch with colleagues. Very nice food and fairly quick service. I have been also for weekend brunch and it is brilliant. A place to try

OCCASION Family X-MAS dinner, from age 10-86 ENVIROMENT cozy! We got a table that was shoe horned in the upper ”party room” for companies. All other dates were not possible so this was our choise. Says something about the service in this place. Situated in...the small harbour not far away from the train station. FOOD All sorts of sea food, harring (sill) and salmon in different styles, x-mas ham?, oysters raw and Rockefeller lobster, crab, langostine, lobster soup, moussels gratine’, eggs with prawns and mayo, 3 sorts of bread. Prawns normal and smoked, gubbröra, jansson and so on.... Everything is well prepaired (perhaps someone is a bit to hard on the salt in the kitchen...) but over all good. I missed a few things though.. scallops and moules frites. For the kids (10-13) we pre ordered their meatballs! It was a hit! Even though they tried some of the things on the seafood table, just to try some. The meatballs with potato pure’, lingonberrys, sauce and pickled cucumber got 5 stars from the kids. AND THEN The dessert table with homemade icecream!! Choc, strawberry... jummy!! Saffron-orange, ok but it IS hard to use saffron in food (except for lussebullar) And maybe paella..And a lot of other sweets....... fits everyone! SERVICE/PERSONAL Very good attention! (Keep the staff!!) Very polite without being too much. GRADING 3,5/5 (cannot give that as grade...) they get a 4 due to it is better than a 3 but not a 4 due to the salting. Perhaps another grade when we have tried the brunch and dinner. Remember this is ONLY the seafood dinner i judge here ! Why? Too much salt in some dishes. COMING BACK? Yes! Im curious about the other food they serve and their brunch!More

Visited on the 6th of July based on nice web site. Mixed experience: pretty good for Sweden food and drinks (compared with 50 countries I have experienced), but the service was not client friendly. Some of younger waitresses were really good and even (I assume)...the owner assisted in zero time with some small request regarding water. However, the main waiter was really awful. First, he has taken an empty carafe for water from the table and never returned with a new one. Secondly he was very busy with (I assume) a number of permanent clients, giving them broadly kisses and hugs, but completely ignoring my attempts to ask for a bill. Finally I have asked him TWICE IN PERSON, but he was still demonstrating how busy he was. No tipping, even it was not unfortunately him, who arrived with a payment terminal. Proposal for management: one guy can easily destroy your reputation thinking about my network.More

As the title would suggest, this gourmet haven is not the kind of place you should visit for a quick lunch. Rather, it’s the kind of place you’d take your date, or celebrate an anniversary. Parking is right around the corner (paid) and usually offers...a free spot. If you don’t have a car of your own, the option to commute is also highly viable. Commute to Västerås train station and then Kajplats 9 will be just a short walk from the bus stop. Food and service here is absolutely off the charts. I’ve had their seafood platter and it was one of the most joyous moments of my eating career. They also offer a generous selection of an array of alcoholic beverages to suit your meal. All in all it’s a wonderful restaurant and should easily be considered as one of the city’s best. But it surely comes at a price, so I’d recommend saving it for more special occasions.More

We have been visiting K9 several times. Service has never been perfect, but mains have... which has justified relatively high prices. Quality of service is still below averge in Västerås (believe it or not... there are really so many great restaurants). However, last Tuesday the...service reached minimum levels (why i need to write this).... We had fish and bouillabaisse, and the dishes rather reminded of a rather typical lunch restaurant dishes were you not want to challenge in any way... not with spices, salt, or other tastes. The view and place is not just enough... time to step up!More

High class seafood restaurant, quite pricey but worth every penny. Right next to the harbour you can sit outside and enjoy a meal or a nice drink or inside. They also have brunch with a lot of seafood delicacies. You won't leave hungry or unsatisfied!
