Enjoyed the afternoon visit to Chokladkoppen. My partner had the spinach pie and I had the cinnamon bun - both very good. Lovely & cozy atmosphere.

Went here today for their "famous" white chocolate cheesecake but it hasn't even been defrosted properly! It was still frozen, inedible and didn't taste like white chocolate at all. I complained and the waitress told me it was supposed to be like this..? If I wanted a frozen cheesecake I could have bought one from the supermarket! My friend had... More

A friend recommended this place to us and we ended up coming here twice. The first time, we stopped in for a quick bite to eat and had the lasagna which was quite good. The second time we came in to warm up and have some coffee and cinnamon rolls that they are famous for. The food overall wasn't over... More

Went here for a drink, ended up having dinner instead. Lasagna was basic but tasty. Very small place which gets full easily in winter but nice to squeeze in.

I'm very sad to say that our experience at Chokladkoppen was a failure. Hot chocolate tasted like super market material. It was playing loud greek dancing music the whole time we were there. We went there to chill and warm up, instead we grew headaches. The only good thing was the nuts and caramel pie. But it's not enough to... More

Worth hanging around until a table comes free if it's full. Quite a fast turnover. Fabulous hot chocolate on what was a really horrible cold, wet day. Very friendly service. Clientele ranged from tourists to yummy mummies and latte pappys (I think they call them) with their kids. Tiny wooden benches and seats. But really atmospheric and a great place... More

We ate here on a saturday morning and it was busy. Tables are first come first serve. So it can be a bit chaotic. It's a small place but the food is really good. I saw lots of people sit and leave because they weren't served immediately. I was served when I sat. it's a gamble really. The white hot... More

Cute, typically Swedish cafe (cozy) that doesn't feel as though it's in the middle of a tourist area. The hot chocolate is wonderful, and not too sweet.

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighborhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
