We came here due to a recommendation in our lonely planet guide. The service was fine and the food was OK too but I didn't come out wowed by it all. We found far nicer places for cake on our journey through Stockholm.

Asked for Caffè latte. Got coffee and ice separately. Confused.. Swedish family in Sweden. Waitor did not speak Swedish. Good English though.

I had a light lunch and a hot chocolate during my visit to Stockholm. The service is great, the staff is friendly and positive. This is a happy place! The food was very good and really lot! Good thing they offer to pack your leftovers so you can take them with you if you want. Would be a shame to... More

Happened upon this place after touring the Nobel museum. It was the end of a long day of sight seeing, and nice to stop, rest, people watch and have something sweet. With some new found energy, we enjoyed the evening in Gamla Stan.

Loved the interior all of wood and very antique, but it was super hot. Loved the peoplewatching and terrasse, but way too touristy prices. The coffee was good, but the cinnamon bun was huge and a little bland. Great place, but missing that 'umphhh!' for me to say it's awesome.

I stopped off here mid-morning for an iced tea and cinnamon bun. I sat outside tucked away at the back of the awning and enjoyed people watching with my drink and snack. The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. It was a very popular café so I wouldn't be surprised if you struggle to get a seat -... More

The white chocolate cheese cake is fabulous. We returned to the place the next day to have another one. The hot chocolate is also one of the bests. We tried also the hot white chocolate. It is special, but we recommend you limit yourself to the small cup if you want to taste it, as it is very sweet and... More

+ Good location + Delicious food (we had cinamon roll, hot white chocolate and a coffee) - a bit pricey - no outside heating

Called in for a cool drink, no room outside so went inside. It is a characterful place with limited lighting. It is quite easy to be missed by serving staff with a constant stream of guests coming and going, so make yourself noticed

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighborhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
