Sitting at the front of the Grand Hotel, this restaurant offers fabulous views of the royal palace across the canals as well as sight of the canal boat tour companies and tourists down below (the restaurant is on the ground floor, but elevated above street level to provide great visibility). The food is very well prepared, and the menu offers... More

Verandan probably has one of the best views of the city of Stockholm. Situated just opposite the Royal Castle and the Old Town it is really very central. The food is amazing. The menu is a mix of Swedish traditional dining and french classics. All made with particular care to detail. It's not cheap but you get great value since... More

I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, with its variety and service. The smorgasbord, however, is worth making a reservation in advance. The restaurant provides a pamphlet on the suggested order for enjoying smorgasbord, and you will need it! The herring course is the first course, and I am suddenly in love with herring after trying 7 different preparations. Then, the salmon... More

Verandan at the Grand Hotel is a nice place, the view to the harbour is pleasant and the interior is nice but some things could improve. The food was actually very good, nicely cooked and presented so the issues are all in the details. The service a little distant and reserved but pleasant. A big minus is that they charge... More

That was probably the best food in Stockholm ever. But the prices were just crazy! One thing I didn't like: the bread was served slice after slice by the waitress. I'd prefer to have the bread at the table.

The Veranda sits at the front of the Grand Hotel looking out over the harbour. A long rectangular room, with a pari of pretty paintings framing each end. Behind the room, facing back into the hotel is the serving area with a smorgasbord that has variations on salmon, prawn and herring, salads and meats, all types of breads, hot choices... More

Me and my husband went for a quiet dinner here the night before we got married. Excellent service, fantastic food, beautiful presentation and they were very acommodating to our special allergy requests. Hoping we get a chance to come back.

The prices are high and the food is good. We went here hoping to get the buffet. But our reservation was at 12.00 and the buffet didn't open until 13.00. In any case the menu is very nice. We had the grilled turbot with stuffed cabbage and the chicken salad. We also had a grilled carrot starter that was tasty.... More

Such a wonderful variety of traditional Swedish dishes. If you're worried that you won't like some of it - don't. We liked all the things we tried (but one!) and we were way more adventurous than usual! The staff were friendly and efficient. I heard them encouraging people to try lots of different things but they weren't stuck up in... More

We had lunch there and at the restaurant which is overlooking the grand palace we were told that it is only buffet and it was typical sweedish specialities. The buffet was rather small and the price for two adults and two children was outrages for what was being offered. The children paid adult prices which was around 70 euros per... More
