The restaurant is small, but the staff is really friend so this makes the atmosphere really nice. I love the Indian fopd they prepare, is not too greasy but incredibly tasty. It is not a luxurious restaurant but considering the position and the quality of the food (and portions - they are perfect) it is really hard to find a... More

I just ate lunch at happy India and it made me unhappy. This is not Indian food this is a bad joke about Indian food. Probably the worst "Indian" lunch in all of Stockholm (and there are many). The plate was dirty, the glasses were old and dirty, the chicken I ordered was chewy and tasteless and the sauce was... More

I dined here twice over the last one month during my business trips to Stockholm. It's a cozy little place but seems pretty popular amongst the locals. I tried vegetarian on both occasions, and wasn't disappointed. Though the food is not very authentically Indian, but at the same time is fresh and delicious. For example Palak Paneer (Spinach with cottage... More

I ordered a takeaway from here and sat and had a beer whilst I waited. Really small restaurant, I found the staff really friendly. I ordered an off menu veggie dish and they made it for me! Tasty - not a huge portion. Restaurant was busy and had a nice atmosphere.

If you are in stockholm and looking for some indian food, this is a great place to go. It is a small restaurant hidden in a quiet road and very economical. They have a lunch buffet but we asked the chef to make the food more authentic indian style for us and they happily obliged. They customised it for our... More

I know it's a popular place for many. 3rd time we been here. Service very prompt and correct. This time we choose two sizzlers. The chicken was overcooked (Dry). The lamb -- alright. I would say - a bit overpriced for the value of food.

Both the lamb and the shrimps were of good quality, but it was so totally overcooked, so it was everything but pleasent to eat. I think they knew, because we were never asked what the food tasted like.

Warm and cozy restaurant with delicious Indian food. I chose spinach vegetarian dish that I believe is softened for weak European taste. Amazing place.

Went here for a meal with a friend, we were the only customers in here at 7.45pm, and were served very quickly and abruptly by a non-friendly waiter. The food came out fairly quickly, and although edible, was nothing special at all. By 8.30pm all the staff were getting ready to leave and we felt in a hurry to leave... More

We chose this place because it was close to our living quarters. Good food and nice service, intimate and good for talking.

Staying in Mariatorget

Neighborhood Profile
This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.
