More than a dinner this was an experience. When the guests arrive they are welcomed by a guy screaming their name and nationality to the audience. Despite it is quite a touristic place the food was very good and the seafood soup I tried was simply delicious. The atmoshpere was quite warm with big tables to share, music ongoing the... More

If you are looking for something different for dinner -- try this Viking theme experience. It's fun, a bit loud, good food. They say that the food preparation used is partially from pre-medieval times. The decor looks quite authentic as a underground large Viking feasting hall with native music playing and waitstaff in viking costume. The family will enjoy a... More

To start, the staff was amazing. Free coat check, then he blew the classic Viking horn and announced our names. Everybody cheered. Great atmosphere. The wait staff was all over our drinks and order. I had quite a few meads and beers (my wife is pregnant so I'm making up for her). It was all great of course. Some times... More

Fun little viking experience in the middle of the city. My medieval obsessed husband loved this place! A little campy perhaps but great fun when there's live music. The food and drinks are great, make sure to try their mussels!

Excellent food, everything was delicious!! The staff is super nice and show happiness. The decoration of the place is also very original. I would recommend this place for any type of visit. They also have a vegetarian option.

You feel welcomed when you have just enter to the restaurant. The environment is great. Foods are pricey, taste so-so.

An amazing experience! From the viking welcome, introducing you to all the guests with a strong shout of your name, to the wonderful viking themed location. The food was simply amazing. You must try Tore Hjort´s Venison served with hash browns on root vegetables with creamy mushroom sauce and a little lingonberry. It's soooo delicious! I loved it and I... More

We had dinner at Aifur around 18.30. When we arrived we received a warm welcome by the restaurant staff and the other customers. The place feels authentic due to the staff, the music and the decorations. The food and drinks are served as they would have been if you lived during the viking age. The food itself was good. The... The food here was really good, but besides the food, they make your dinner here a proper experience! The whole restaurant, the music, etc. were all great. It is a bit pricey, but it is definitely worth doing once!

Despite of the fact that this the mother of all touristic restaurants - this one is a must. Because the entertainment is totally worth it! The service was a bit slow but the food being in high quality as it was totally compensated it, and the cutlery is just like in the old days, whether it's really old or not... More

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighborhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
