This café is most likely one of the best little places, I have been to. It's cosy, warm and the old furniture create a great atmosphere along with nice decorations on the walls. The place is small but has room downstairs too. They serve simple lunch and I recommend "soup of the day" which is great and perfect for a low budget. If not lunch then try to fika: Swedish for a five o'clock tea and cake. I'll be back next time in Stockholm.

For a place smack in the middle of tourist-land (Gamla Stans Stortorget), this restaurant is surprisingly hospitable. Good food and nice atmosphere with welcoming staff, even for group meetings. Certain days and seasons, you may want to reserve a table.

Lovely little place in the historic centre, right next to the Nobel Museum. The gastronomic offer is good, appropriate to the type of place, covering from breakfast (the cinnamon roll is excellent) to brunch and dinner. The prices are all in all acceptable, in the average of Stockholm. The only flaw we found in the 3 times we went is the service, a bit slow and distracted.

We had an enjoyable lunch here. My coffee was cold, which I found a bit strange. Later, I understood. When I went to pay, I said to the waitress, " I can wait, you can bring that food there first" (there was hot food waiting to be brought to the tables). She then said, no, that's not my job. And it subsequently just sat there.
Food was nice enough, mostly the cosy location and friendly service made it an enjoyable stop.

Overall it’s a good experience. The Coffee/ drinks are a little bit pricy but really good. We ate a swedisch cinnamon roll that was delicious and compared with the coffee not expensive.
We had a table inside but we would definitely recommend to sit outside.

The tea and coffees we got were so diluted! The coffee was served in a drinking glass and the hot steam was the only thing telling us : this is not cola.
The chai latte was more hot milk than chai with a hint of cinnamon. For a coffee house this was not up to par.

I have been here twice recently: firstly to take one quick beer, secondly to take some coffee. Even though I did not eat, the stay was very pleasant, the atmosphere was calm, genuine and space had "a soul". The candles on the table made the perfect touch to relax a bit and let me enjoy coffee during one dark winter afternoon.

A beautiful and historical cafe located on the ground floor of the red building built in 1650 in Stortorget square. Glögg is a low-alcohol mulled wine consumed by Swedes during the winter months.
We asked for this and it came with almonds, raisins and gingerbread. It was really delicious.

Visited here for coffee after being recommended by a friend. The interior is lovely and cosy with great service. It is only small inside but also has additional seating downstairs. Would highly recommend trying their cinnamon rolls- served warm and delicious!

No time pressure when staying and dining at this open air coffee shop. Located in the gamla stan old town it was a perfect fit. Friendly staff , good menu choices. We had lasagna, chicken curry sandwich and the salmon spinach pie. Of course we had beer as well .

Cosy gorgeous little cafe for the BEST fika! On the main square, it was slightly hidden by some scaffolding. It was the perfect little stop to warm up from the cold and have some yummy fika.
I had a chai latte and my husband had a hot chocolate. The cinnamon buns were delicious- definitely the best we had on our trip. Would highly recommend

I was pleasantly surprised at how great this cafe was. Right across from the Nobel prize museum so you may thing tourist trap but no, this is well worth a visit. Gorgeous quaint & charming decor, outdoor seating available also with blankets for the cold. The Swedish pancakes with whipped cream and jam were delightful. Service was very good the girls were lovely, prices about average. Absolutely recommend, I had a wonderful breakfast here.

Very (very!) cosy place but a great atmosphere and nice food. We were downstairs and it was busy but staff kept their sense of humour and it felt like a genuine experience of the old town and buildings. Lots of fun

Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
