The dining rooms are in the cellars and very pretty with the candles. Typical Swedish cuisine and professional service. We had a nice evening.

Everything about Fem Sma Hus was excellent. The food, the ambiance and the service were first rate. When it comes to charm, the restaurant has plenty of it.

We were here our last night in Stockholm. What a great experience! Very Swedish - lots of local fish, meatballs, reindeer and elk and locally made cheese. It was a bit intimidating to an American but the food was fantastic. I had the reindeer in a red wine sauce and it was, without a doubt, the best thing I've eaten... More

We were seated in one of the lower vaulted cellars where we had a table with considerable privacy since it was against a short dividing wall. Service was very good. My wife had Veal Anna Lindberg with morel sauce and potato gratin while I had a delicious reindeer with port wine sauce and pureed potatoes. The bread assortment was very... More

Had dinner here with friends and we all enjoyed our food. The smorgasbord starter was enough for four to share. The wild duck was very good. Excellent service.

Went for a romantic dinner for two. A very nice bar area with comfy seats where we had a drink before taking our table which we elected to have outside as it was a very warm August night. The food was good and the service pleasant.

The ambience is fantastic! The medieval building into which the restaurant was set. The food is pretty good and the service also. They made a mistake on forgetting about my wife's desert which was understandable as she had ordered the menu - which included the desert - and I made my order with an entree, main but no desert. I... More

Went here without a reservation and we were seated within 40 minutes. It's a restaurant made up of lots of different rooms below street level so you have no idea if it's busy until you get down there. We shared smorgasbord which was a great choice. All tasters were delicious. We then had reindeer and Arctic char. Both cooked beautifully.... More

Five Small Houses you will find in the heart of Old Town, just off St. George and the Dragon. You are welcomed into a superb restaurant, which is made up of nine beautiful arches. These extend over five house, hence the name of the restaurant. There is also a modern conference room and lounges that are often used as function rooms On the menu you can always find dishes like herring, cured salmon, fillet of reindeer and a cloudberry dessert. Our parade course fillet´t of veal Anna Lindberg, it is served with morel sauce and potato gratin. It is also possible to organize wine tastings as related to conferences or as completely separate events.

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighborhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
