Lovely Swedish fusion food, advisable to book as it appears to be on the tourist trail and was crowded.

This restaurant, which translates as Five Small Houses, is located in the basements of...five houses which are interconnected. Each room is different, and the décor is quite interesting. The food we had was excellent. I tried the reindeer, and it was delicious. There is a good wine list, and the service was friendly.

We were invited to this restaurant by a Stockholm-based friend who had not been there for some time. Everything about the experience was excellent. The restaurant is located on the edge of Gamla Stan, one block away from the waterfront. It is on several levels in the house's cellars, originally used for storage by merchants. The menu was traditional Swedish... More

Went here for lunch and it was lovely, so went back again. Had the daily special each time both, one fish one reindeer, both of which were amazing. My partner had a daily special and the Swedish meatballs again both of which were exceedingly good. I must admit i cannot pick a favourite dish. We sat outside on sunny days... More

The restaurant was recomendet us form our hotel for the first evening in Stockholm. It was a great suggestion ! The row fish ( salmon , hering ) was verry tasty and a bottle of prosseco round the meal. Service was perfect and the bill was not exagerate. For Stockholm you can say it was moderately.

Fem Sma Hus means Five Small Houses. From the outside you can't really tell, which is kinda cool, but once you are inside, it's like this cute and cozy labyrinth, with stairs connecting the small rooms of the five old houses, pretty cool. The food was very good, we went there with a local who knew what to order so... More

We were directed to The Five Small Houses by the hotel staff as well as TA. This was by far the best restaurant we have experienced in our many times in Stockholm for both business & pleasure. Do try try he traditional Swedish items. The Reindeer & minced veal were "try her die for ". The gazpacho was excellent. The... More

We had a celebration dinner in a private room next to the wine cellar and had a memorable night with excellent food and a perfect service. We were allowed to visit the wine cellar and were very much impressed by the treasures kept there.

Five Small Houses you will find in the heart of Old Town, just off St. George and the Dragon. You are welcomed into a superb restaurant, which is made up of nine beautiful arches. These extend over five house, hence the name of the restaurant. There is also a modern conference room and lounges that are often used as function rooms On the menu you can always find dishes like herring, cured salmon, fillet of reindeer and a cloudberry dessert. Our parade course fillet´t of veal Anna Lindberg, it is served with morel sauce and potato gratin. It is also possible to organize wine tastings as related to conferences or as completely separate events.

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighborhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
