Beautiful ambiance, a bit loud maybe but no worries. Great staff, small menu with awesome dishes to choose from. Our group had the porc (huuuuge!), swedish meatballs (tasted great), cheesepie (huuuuge!) and a dish with shrimps which was delicious as well. Recommended!

It was my first visit there even though I used to live in Stockholm more than 5 years before...(at that time, I thought Swedish food was not so good but I changed my mind especially after I left Sweden, partly because of nostalgia??) Quality of food is good(bit salty) and atmosphere and interior are quite traditional and very good.

As always, great "atmosfär" and very good food to enjoy with or without snaps, a shot of very cold vodka spiced to perfection and a side-kick of local bear. I had this awesome fried side pork with onion cream sauce and boiled fresh potatoes, which brought me back to my Moms kitchen 50 years ago as a child. *****

I had the potato dumplings and was too salted for a main dish and thus I could't eat it all. The service was very good. The price was a bit expensive for the general quality of the food.

We just finished dining at Pelikan restaurant. We are from the United Ststes, but my husband's grandpa was from Sweden. We had spent our day in museums and roaming the streets of Stockholm. My husband and I are foodies. And I had done some research to find a great authentic Swedish restaurant. I made reservations here and we were very... More

My friend and I ate here for supper on our first night in Stockholm. I got the Swedish meatballs with pickle, lingonberries, and mashed potatoes. The meatballs were salty but not too much. The sauce was delicious! I also got creme brulee which was amazing! The food was slightly pricey but it's Stockholm. Also the quality was great! My friend... More

According to my Swedish colleague, this is the best place in Stockholm to have Swedish meatball. But somehow I found the meatballs here too salty that I almost couldn't finish. (I have tried meatballs in many places in Stockholm before and this is the first time this happens.) Other than that, the food was nice. My friend ordered a dish... More

An old beer hall serving good food and drinks. I eat the pate followed by trout. My partner had the meatballs. Portion size varied enormously looking around. The fish dainty, the meat substantial. The service was quite relaxed so best not to visit if you are in a big hurry. Quite expensive for two but good food.

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighborhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
