This restaurant was recommended to us and we were so pleased it was. The restaurant location is very central. Inside was beautiful and traditional. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The food is traditional Swedish and cooked beautifully. The menu has a small selection but varied. I ordered the calves liver - it was sweet succulent and beautifully cooked.... More

I was returning to the hotel after a long walk in the old city and the nice restaurant sign. The room is large and a little noisy when full. It reminded me a spot of the past...I'm thinking about a movie set in the Twenties. the waiters are friendly, speak fluent English and are very willing to help tourists in... More

This restaraunt is great. My Swedish friend recommended this place and it certainly lived up to it. The pork knuckle is amazing. The atmosphere and staff were great. Would return again and again .... top class

Note that this review is just for the bar area of Pelikan (the attached bar called Kristallen) which doesn't have its own entry on Trip advisor. Simply terrible. A loud and expensive hell-hole full of preening idiots, a bearded DJ playing deafening dance music at the bar, rude staff who ignored my group until we forced them to serve us,... More

Excellent food and service .. More is not necessary to say for a great restaurant that has been running for many years. One gets the feeling of Stockholm

The place is a bit in the middle of nowhere. We went to the restaurant just because it had a high rating, but it was not worth the effort or the money.

We came here after reading a blog recommendation however it was very average. The restaurant is very touristic and the food is not exceptionally tasty. I had better food in Stockholm. The place is also very noisy, it is not even possible to chat with your friends . The meatballs also have pork inside, just for the information to those... More

My husband and I went on a search for delicious Swedish meatballs and came here on a recommendation from locals working at a nearby bar. They have a main course consisting of meatballs with delicious brown gravy, mashed potatoes and lingonberries. OUTSTANDING! Tasted like Thanksgiving dinner. So comforting and satisfying on a cold and rainy afternoon. Beautiful place with fantastic... More

Not only was the tap beer (un-filtered pilz) awesome, but our mains were out of this world. You'd be a fool to pass up this insanely cool, old place if you're in Stockholm. Highly recommended.

If you would like to try classic Swedish food, this is together with KB one of the best places in Stockholm. Especially the meatballs are good, but als the Grosshandlarmiddag, but that is more a classic Gentlemens' menu.

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighborhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
