This is what I call "hospitality", to feel warmly welcomed even 1 hour before closing hour. Andre, the very skilled bar chef created custom made Cocktails and helped to find the right drink for the food. A good selection of wines with great value for money - prices being circa 30 % lower than in other restaurants. The interior design is very appealing,.spacious and comfortable, offering space on two levels. We loved the sommer rolls and all the hot main dishes we chose. Duck, beef and vegetables were cooked to perfection. The sauces were very well balanced and just delicious. At the end of the meal, Andre brought us little boxes for the leftovers, we did not even have to ask for it. The whole family agreed, this is our new favorite restaurant in Malmö, eventhough it is on the complete other side of town - the good thing is, it is right next to Värnhemstorget, therefore perfectly connected with public transport. We wish Andre and his colleagues a great success, and hope they keep on doing such an amazing job and have fun doing so! We will be back very soon and can only recommend this restaurant highly!

I have been at Linnea & Basilika in Värnhem few times as well as taken take-away in several occasions. The location is quite nice, although it is not immediate with parking, but easy to reach with public transportation at least. The restaurant feels sometimes a bit empty when one is there for dinner. It is also quite big, with an upper floor. The restaurant style is cosy/elegant, with a bit dark tone - I do prefer though when a restaurant is well lit. The staff is usually quite kind and fast in service. The menu is the "standard" Linnea & Basilika which offers a quite good variety of thai food for a reasonable price, if one thinks of the portion. It often happens that if we do take-away we share one dish or we take plenty of doggy bags when eating there. The taste is quite ok, but it feels also a bit mellow. It is probably that one ends up eating more and less similar dishes from time to time, but it feels that the tastes blend into each other between the different dishes. It would be nice with some seasonal dish that varies a bit the menu. All together a good place where to eat, if one is not after sophisticated flavours.

We have been Linnea & Basilika in Varnhem Malmo, a few days back for Lunch buffet. We are vegetarians and must say that the vegetarian soup was fantastic. The rest of the food was also very good. But the one most important thing that I would like to highlight the hospitality offered by 'Andrei' and the ever smiling woman 'Hoa'. Everything was very well organized by Andrei with personal attention and the kindness of Hoa was the icing on the cake. We definitely appreciate such staff in any restaurant who make the restaurant extra special for the guests. Overall a very good restaurant.

Our experience was particularly poor throughout. The front of house was clearly understaffed with just one waitress covering both dine in and take away. We ordered prawns and spring rolls to start. The spring rolls were plentiful in number, but lacked filling and were burnt. The prawns were also deep fried and burnt, although the filling was more substantial. I ordered a Prawn paad Thai and my wife ordered a red beef curry with a shared portion of stir fried vegetables as a side. I specifically requested extra spice on my paad Thai. When it arrived the paad Thai had no spice or chilli heat whatsoever and tasted almost exclusively of tomato puree/paste, which was an overwhelming flavour. In fairness there was a plentiful amount of good sized overcooked prawns, so cooked correctly and as requested the dish might have been tasty. The red beef curry was again overcooked and pretty tasteless. We had to remind the waitress of the mixed vegetables which were forgotten and had to be cooked after we had received our mains. When it arrived it was the best cooked dish of the evening. When we explained our disappointment to the waitress she explained she didn't have a shared language with any of the kitchen staff which probably explains why the Paad Thai was so different to the special request at the time of the order, although the communication problem was not our fault as diners and we still had to pay a full Kr716 for a grossly sub-standard meal. Based on our experience I would caution anybody against ordering from the a la Carte menu at this restaurant.

Fairly nice premises and decor with a central location in the eastern districts of Malmö, nice staff - which consisted of one person at our lunch. Regarding the food, this was a big disappointment and the allusion to Thai food is completely out of place. There was a range of several dishes and to them various sauces. The food was totally tasteless and dry, or burnt, but above all consistently dry and chewy - a lot seems to be semi-finished products that have been fried up in the fryer - as an example I want to mention the chicken skewers. Skewered as it should be, but on each stick there was an identical piece of chicken with almost exactly the same shape and size on all of them - talk about food heated in a deep fryer... Food on skewers is usually alternating pieces of meat with something in between, for example onions, peppers et cetera ... Here you got something in the shape and form of a filleted herring, the same on all the sticks and the few I tried were just as dry and tasteless... It's too long to describe all the dishes in detail, but the theme was the same: Dry tasteless and with little Thai connection - the website shows 1-3 pepper fruits, to indicate the heat in the food - if it was the first of April I would have understood the joke.. . Finally, I will briefly touch on the sauces on offer: Not really much to talk about, Peanut sauce but even a microscopic smidgen of peanuts, sweet and sour sauce that was probably meant to live up to the name but didn't taste a bit like sweet and sour... This is how it was when I was there and my friends agree! Probably won't try again (everyone can have a bad day) as it was established dishes in the concept range that we ate! Do as you wish, dear readers!

Nice decor with an embracing atmosphere. Central location in the center of eastern Malmö. The food was a huge disappointment though, nothing really tasted like anything at all; not even salt and pepper, all the meat was dry and completely without juiciness - could it be that it is served deep frozen, which is fried in the fryer for a few minutes... For example, the chicken skewers, which were all exactly the same shape, the same size and looked like filleted, skinless anchovies - as I said, completely tasteless and dry! Just like the rest of the dishes, which followed the same spirit - no taste, dry and in some cases tough like chewing gum or so hard-fried that it was impossible to chew. The sauces were also disappointing, how do you succeed in making a peanut sauce with no peanut flavor at all; also tasted bad... Same with sweet and sour and curry sauce, no taste of the namesake spice but just unappetizing! I had the same experience from another large chain also represented in Malmö, only seemingly quickly heated questionable ingredients! If you look at Linnea o Basilika's website, you will see pepper fruits which, with their number, should represent the spice strength in the dishes - this year's joke...!!! Another source for a good laugh is their own advertising text "Everything is homemade and the dishes are prepared a la minute according to your order and wishes."... Remember that the restaurant may have had a bad day and try it for yourself, however I absolutely refrain from spending 145 (!) kroner on "food" that is far surpassed by any old sausage...!

We ordered a red curry stew, vegetables with shrimp and fish sauce and chicken skewers with peanut sauce (for our 3 year old). The dishes were delicious! The staff was very nice and accommodating. My wife even got a rose from the staff because it was the 8th of March. Recommended!

Went here for a spontaneous Sunday evening dinner. Booked through The Fork. This place is not worthy its somewhat misplaced location in the more commercial part of Malmö. From the get-go, the staff was friendly and attentive and gave us special attention. We chose the summer rolls as starter, which was tasty. For main course, I had the pho bo. This was the highlight, and probably one of the best pho's I've ever had - well balanced and plentiful. For desert we wanted tea, but opted for some tea water with lime instead due to the lacking tea assortment (which was fine, as we are quite picky when it comes to tea), and the coconut ice cream, which was beautifully presented. All in all, a great experience at an exceptional price of SEK 560 (if this place would have a more lucrative location in the better parts of Malmö, I would gladly pay the double). Thank you for a nice evening, we'll be sure to come back soon again.

When it got opened in Varnhem, never thought it could be so good restaurant. Very much like the design and cutlery, very delicous food and signature cocktails Great service. Overall we left the restaurant with smile, happy and full. This is the best Vietnamese restaurant in town. Will come back and recommend to my friends . Can't wait for next time.

Nice atmosphere, good service and good food. The prices are perhaps a bit steep if I would complain about anything.
