Very nice and old rustique feeling. This place brings me back to old days in ireland and Scotland. The atmosphere offers live music and the staff is very professional. I´ll recommend to grab som old off the shelf bottles of beers for the best experience.

Pipes for the students and the broken hearted!

Good food, cozy, with some live music on stage. Different people, the pub serve Guinness and snacks. Food is ok, average.

Pleasant bar

We were glad to find this place the last evening of our trip. It is located downstairs in the Aveny Hotel. The interior is nice and the staff friendly. There is a large selection of beers but we were in need of GTs after our dinner.

A good choice in the evening for a Beer

If you like to good at the weekend for some cold beer and a snack then you can go defiant to pipes of Scotland. A beer starts from 54SEK. Everything will be ordered at the bar. The Bar is decorated like a Scottish pub and looks authentic. Also there is a possibility to sit outside.

Very good service from the barman

We were staying at the Hotel Avery. This was convenient for our last evening, as we had my 3 year old grandson with us. They obliged us by doing a pasta dish for the little one. My salad with thin layers of steak and blue cheese was lovely. We were the only ones eating in there, so there was only one Choice of dessert. Also the menu for main courses were limited. It is an hospitable pub. We were there while the city was quiet, owing to the holiday season.

Relaxed style semi-student bar. Good live music and quizzes here some nights. Nice place to just sit and chat in a warm environment. Food is nothing special. Drinks are expensive, but cheaper than other places in the centre.

A slice of home in Scandanavia

So.... you finally get to Sweden in December - by train, at night, in the cold, rugged up in twenty layers of clothing. Yes, it's gorgeous, and you know you're going further North later on in your trip to see the Northern lights and other great bucket list sights. But you just have a craving for some hearty 'home' food, some familiar accents and a fireplace with a cold ale. Enter Pipes of Scotland to give you that much needed boost of 'home'. Wonderful!

This is a very cosy pub with good options both brinks and food. They have good food for vegetarians as well. When I was there they had a Sami evening with joikslam and this happening was really popular. Crowded inside which gave a very family-like feeling. They have quite a few happenings now and then at this Place.

Great atmosphere, food, drinks, service, activities

I hate going to British stuff abroad but we arrived late to Hotel Aveny and this was accessible from indoors so we went. A great find! Friendly service, great choice of food and drinks (even had two vegan options - the crispy mushroom noodle dish was fab), and really lively. You might struggle to get a table at times or when stuff is on - eg we stayed for the Pop Quiz, which was fantastic, music-based, free to enter, and the questions are written down so you can get by with imperfect Swedish! The place was packed for it, with people sat on the floor too. But it was a great place, so I understand that. Pricy, but no pricier than any other bar/pub in Sweden!

Good pub with a nice selection of beer

A nice pub with a great selection of beer and whiskey. They also have a surprisingly good vegetarian burger that is more than enough food for one. Others in my company tried the "normal" burger and some bbq and they were all very happy as well.

Worst Irish coffee ever

Since the bar at our hotel was closed, we (3 friends) went next door to Pipes of Scotland. Two of us had Irish Coffee. None of us finnished it. The third had just a coffee, and he did not finnish that either... You have to to do something about the coffee, because thats no good

Good pubfood!

I was in Umeå for a day with a friend and we found Pipes of Scotland by accident. It's a cosy place with good and reasonibly priced pubfood. We had some Mozzarella sticks and the "Leafstake" (Lövbiff). I can see myself coming back next time I'm in Umeå!! :)

Good place for a beer!

Cosy. Large beer sortiment. Resembles an old-fashioned pub. Live music some nights. Better pub then the ordinary franchise pubs.

Nice pub food and good beer

We went to Pipes of Scotland with little or no expectations and were pleasantly surprised. We had a burger with ordinary fries and a quesadilla with sweet potato fries. All very good. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice. We can recommend this place.

decent pub food, good place to go

I had a dinner here with a friend. We first sampled some beers from the large collection and then had dinner. I had the Fish & Chips which tasted excellent. I'd definitely go here again.
