On arrival we had to ask 3 different members of staff where our reserved table was. Eventually we were told over there, as we turned to make our own way over we were shouted back to say we had to order our drinks at the bar! We were given 2 menu's there were 4 of us and told he would... More

Such a find! The Tavern is a welcoming pub with a generous side order of conviviality. The food served is freshly made with high quality ingredients. The staff team are polite, efficient and hard working. We enjoyed our evening there immensely. Thank you!

I always make sure I visit The Tavern whenever I'm in the UK and in Staffordshire. It's what a country village pub is supposed to be. Excellent service, run by a friendly team and host, a real heart to the community. There is a great vibe here, which is one of the reasons it's so popular. If you want to... More

Delicious food, good beer and great atmosphere. Very busy, but food only took 25mins. Have already booked our next meal out here!

We visited the Tavern with two friends who live close by and who had good previous experiences in the restaurant. We booked a table and arrived on time and shown to the table. We ordered some bread and olives to keep us going as we were all very hungry. The bread arrived and consisted of two of the smallest pieces... More

Very average pub food took a good while to arrive although the pub was fairly empty, but the staff were friendly and cheerful. Perhaps a better place for a drink than for a meal?

We have been going to The Tavern for about 10 months now, and I have to say that you would be hard pressed to find a better roast anywhere in the North or Central Midlands. They are still trying to find the best way to deliver the best service so sometimes the service can be a little "iffy". I also... More

Having seen this pub recommended in the good pub guide I ventured here. I was very pleased with the welcome and the ambience. The beer was well kept and I enjoyed my pint of Wainwrights. The food was OK...pleasant enough apart from the beer battered cod. It was distinctly average... I think it was from the freezer and oven cooked.... More
