Had a lovely meal at the tavern this week. Great little country pub serving great quality food. Pub was a little loud, but what can you really expect considering it was a lively pub with Friday night atmosphere. No complaints here, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Good food and excellent service.

Visited tonight with daughter, her hubby and two friends - rang at 5.40, there at 6, food by 6.30. Ate in the bar because the other tables were all booked and you can see why. The pizzas were superb, piping hot, really tasty, great value and the place was buzzing. Couldn't fault quality, price or overall experience. If you don't... More

Decided to come for a meal after the excellent reviews on trip advisor and we was not disappointed. We went for the steak deal which was lovely. The homemade chips were gorgeous. Defiantly worth a visit if you are in the area. The chef came out and had a chat and made a fuss of our 2 year old daughter... More

We booked a table for 13 at short notice, and so glad we did, service and food brilliant, and probably the best rump steak I've had in years too!!

We went here on the recommendation of our guesthouse host. We have 3 children, 5yo, 11yo and a 15yo. This is the first time ever all 3 ate their whole meal and a pudding! The youngest wanted a chocolate brownie each but when we asked for one to share it came on two plates and they both had plenty. My... More

Such a shame we were so looking forward to a beautiful meal after reading the reviews and having the place recommended by local friends. We went on MOnday and were told 'no meals on Monday'. Went back on Tuesday. For the starter we were unable to have our choice - we have no olives -and then the one main course... More

Only stopped off mid point of walk but good choice real ales in very nice surroundings. We had already eaten lunch but liked the look of the menu especially the woods fired pizzas at weekends.

We enjoy a lunch at the tavern on a regular basis. The food Is always of excellent quality. I often have the Cajun chicken with salad and chips, my husband really rates the homemade pie. A special was on the menu today, poached salmon with prawn, crayfish and parsley butter sauce, he rated it very highly, the side serve of... More

Three of us called in at The Tavern on Thursday night for tea. We arrived just before 8pm. We ordered quickly because we were hungry, and were told here was about half an hour wait on food. Unfortunately, the food (one cajun chicken, one goats cheese salad and garlic bread, and one steak) took over an hour to come. This... More
