I am a Coeliac so gluten free, and have several other food allergies. The server and chef went to no end of trouble for me, outlining what I could eat and offering me special items if nothing there suited. My meal was superb, perfectly cooked,...More

My daughter and I had a brilliant meal at Bedda, this Sunday night. I was impressed by the service and the meals served. I will definitely recommend Bedda to my friends and family.

Not the same... But excellent in its own right. New direction and new chef pays homage to Sicilian cucina but delivers a fresh innovative product. Delicious.

Caught up with friends last night at the newly renovated Bedda. The first thing that struck me on entering the restaurant from the wet, chilly Melbourne night was how toasty warm it was inside. My rockling pan-fried fish with sea vegetables was superb with a...More

Although this restaurant offers authentically Sicilian cuisine, I've opted for the Angus steak (with potato gratin) for main on my last two visits and am still smacking my lips days later. Start with the scintillating Sicilian nibbles, ease into the mouth-watering tortellini al brodo, then...More

I think $245 for two people who shared entrees, had fish as a main, a small rocket and kale salad and a bottle of wine is a bit steep. No deserts either. The fish had cous cous with it as an accompaniment and I asked...More

We often went to Bedda before it changed hands. Food was not as good on our first visit with the new owners. However after quite a break we decided to try again. Yes the good is good but the prices are ridiculous. The salumi plate...More

Description
At the table, one does not grow old. Bedda Restaurant is doing some exciting things to stay young too. Bedda has been a Northside institution for over fifteen years. But all institutions have to reinvent themselves from time to time, and that's just what we're doing now. We get a lot of support from Northside locals, and our new Chef James Wilkinson wants to return that by supporting local, ethical farmers. The Bedda philosophy is providing diners with a true 'Locavore' (all produce locally sourced) experience. Chef James rolls his own pasta, makes his own bread, produces a home spun charcuterie plate, and keeps the menu 'on the run' in line with what's available from our local farmers. And because we don't purchase pre-cut pieces of meat, we can serve unusual offerings, where Chef James needs to be innovative and creative. Bedda has made sure that the quality has not meant an increase in prices. Its all about encouraging people to eat well, to help our local economy thrive and to ensure that everyone can try the vibrant menu at Bedda. We encourage families to come eat here, as we know that our kids are taught from an early age about protecting our environment and treating animals with respect. So at Bedda we treat kids like important customers, helping them appreciate good food and sustainable cooking. There is also a bar for diners who want to eat small and simply. At Bedda, we may be an institution but we're a restaurant that believes in staying fresh and doing extraordinary things. Come and sample our new menu this week with your family and friends.
