Were there for a late lunch in mid March 2020. Excellent food, attentive service and the great setting made it a memorable experience. A stones throw from Helsingor station, this vintage eatery is a must-visit destination in its own right

The restaurant serves a variety of authentic Danish Open Sandwiches. Everything is fresh from the kitchen and the food is delicious. The atmosphere in the old surroundings is cosy. I can highly recommend this place.
Located in one of the oldest buildings in Elsinore this is worthwhile a visit for lunch. Not a large selection however what we got tasted very well. Small selection of beers and snaps. Nice interior and quick and friendly service
I was recommended Beef chop on rye bread and Fish cake on rye bread by my Danish Friends as it’s Classic Traditional and I loved the food so much. The services were excellent and ambience was great. Enjoyed the food with light beer
This was a great find! A lovely lunch in a very historically interesting location. Will return next time I am in Denmark.
The restaurant is situated in an old house complete with blackened wood beams and antiques, Worth a visit in itself However the food was also excellent. We really enjoyed the traditional Danish smorrebrod. Would love to go back and try items enjoyed by other patrons...which looked so tasty.More
"Smorrebrod"= a Danish sandwich like a meal. Just order 2-3 and you have got a fantastic lunch. Select meat, cheese, pastry, vegetarian or a combination and be assured you will be satisfied. A top place and best in Helsingör. Just think to be in a...house from the 17th century and with excellent food.More
Although the food was decent and some more vegetarian dishes would have been nice, the waitress was awful. Rude, impatient and frankly put us off the food. A pity as it was a cute place just very unfriendly. The food was just okay. Would not go...backMore
We visited with our Danish family. Food was local and well prepared. I lived the house. I would definitely go back.
Great service, great coffee, cakes and lunch. The place is in one of the oldest buildings in town. In the summertime, a lovely courtyard is open. The locals goes here!
This lovely restaurant was full but we got the last table, quite small but it was worth being cramped to enjoy the delicious food and atmosphere. Many of the other guests seemed to be older ladies enjoying large glasses of beer and a schnapps on...the side. It turns out they come over from Sweden on the ferry for the day to enjoy Danish cuisine and Danish prices. That explains why there are so many wine shops in Helsingor. We enjoyed the fish cakes and the shrimp open sandwich - prompt, friendly service too. Good chilled rosé wine and coffee too. We would have returned another day for an evening meal but the restaurant closes at 5pm.More
Make sure to be here quite early for lunch, to get the best choice of real Danish smörrebröd. They are very tasty! If the weather is nice, sit outside in the small and cosy garden. Friendly staff. Very relaxed and nice atmosphere. Recommend to take...a stroll through the old streets and look at the wonderful houses (just off the main shopping streets) before or after your lunch.More
We found this little Cafe for lunch. It serves mainly Smorrebrod and they were very good. My husband had the roast pork which was cooked to perfection and even had the crackle attached. I had the meatballs which were also good and all the other...dishes being served at other tables looked very appetising. You don't always get a good coffee in Denmark, but the lattes were excellent. Lunch goes to late, so it is still open if you've spent a long time at Kronborg Castle.More
We accidentially stumbled upon this little restaurant during a holiday trip. The restaurant itself is a lovely old timber-framed building. The service was prompt and friendly. The dishes were excellent; I can fully recommend the herring and the smorrebrod. In addition, the prices were reasonable...for Denmark.More
We had a nice table in the window of this cozy place. Lady had fish cake, which she declared great. It was served with a very tasty yellow sauce, which resembled egg salad. I had the lunch plate special which was the prettiest plate of...food I had on my two-week trip. It included salmon pate, roast pork, two cheeses, orange, grape, lemon, salad, bread, crackers – a beautiful sight to behold [and to eat]. Great lunch spot near train station and ferry dockMore
