What a treat it was to have lunch at this restaurant. Old fashioned cooking, we tried various herring dishes, that had been pickled in different sauces on site. I had the Pernod herring with star anise. It was delicious. We also had frikadeller and the...liverpate dish. All was homemade.More

Don’t go here if your primary aim is to have a great dinner. The draw of this venue is that it’s a lovely, traditional (but well maintained) classy venue with friendly staff, in a great location. It has seats outsides and on a sunny day,...it’s a great place to while away the time. There are only two vegan options and they are only available at lunch time. In the evenings, this venue has one set meal for all customers (and it isn’t vegan). I would give this place full marks if they added just a couple more vegan options.More

Come here to enjoy danish food and the quiet ambience of people enjoying a cold beer and a game of billiards. This place has been around forever - and will stay until forever.... :-) I had a fried herring “smørrebrød” and meatballs with cucumber and...potatosalad - both just like mum would have made it.More

We were six persons and we all agreed that the food there is below average. I had two different type of herrings. Our four friends and my wife had the “stjerneskud”. A “stjerneskud” is a fried plaice fish filet topped with shrimps and fish eggs...(black or red) usually accompanied of mayonnaise and asparagus. I have tried many times this dish and if well prepared with good fresh ingredients it really can taste excellent. My wife who is Danish said this was the worst stjerneskud she has ever had. The fish fried filets were very soggy and very obviously frozen filets. Everything else was from the can. I actually never got asparagus from the cam served before at a restaurant. When charged over 100kr per dish this is a scandal. I did even a bigger mistake to order the herrings. I’ve got attracted to that idea as one was supposed to be marinated in pernod ricard. I am French so I know what pernod ricard is and that herring did not taste at all like pernod ricard. It was also very hard. The other one I nearly forced myself to eat it and I should not have done that. The horse radish was brown and had a terrible taste. But our friends from abroard were inviting and it was our idea to eat there so I could not refuse to eat this. These two herrings were the worst ones I have tried for a long time. Obviously these herrings came from a can and were not good quality. The bread served with it was thin below average dry black bread. The coffee was also not good. To top it off you have to order your food yourself at the bar but prices are similar to other restaurant with service. Way over-rated, sub par food to avoid and many better places to eat close by in the area. I will certainly not eat there anymore.More

We went for lunch, the place is not so large, but very familiar and the food is very good. However the furniture could use some update!.

Went here for lunch after recommendations from a friend. Had two plates of hearing and my father also tried the "pariser bøf". Outstanding danish food. The selection of beer was excellent with some 100 beers to choose from including 17 on tap. We will definitely...be back next time we are in town. On top of all of this, the service was super friendly.More

Stopped for drinks -- good reasonably priced range. Difficult to write one hundred words about sharing a red wine and a Danish lager al fresco style in early Spring. Conveniently situated a couple of hundred metres from our hotel, we were encouraged to visit thanks...to a promotional voucher from Carlsberg Brewery offering a 50% discount on ones first lager, and this promise was honoured without question. This pub/restaurant was only one of three listed on the voucher, so that tells you something. The lager was a Carlsberg Jacobsen pale ale, and very nice it was, especially at half price!More

They have 3 (and soon to be 4) vegan smørrebrød options that are fantastic! They even give you vegan butter for the bread. Great service as well!
