Visting Damindra was an amzing experience: The food 😍 the service 😍 the story 😍 everything was just amazing. I would recommend this to everybody who would love a great night out with amazing food and a full experience 🙌🏻
The food was very delicious, but we did have a bad experience with the bill at the end of our evening. We took an option menu which included around 8 small dishes. I asked specifically the waiter if that menu can be shared as it...was quite pricey so I can decide if it will be enough for 2 people. The waiter replied that yes, you can share so we ordered it. How surprised we were when the bill came and the amount was double of what we expected! When we asked the waiter for an explanation he said that is not what he meant... And I guess my specific question about sharing was not clear enough...
That really spoiled the whole experience as the waiter didn't take responsibility for his honest mistake as we have ordered 1 menu to share but unknowingly we were served 2 menus.
So the conclusion is to be aware of the lack of service and responsibility in this place.More
A nice experience and amazing service! Love the fact that not all the dishes are finalized before they come to the table and that the final touch is done at your table. The service was very great, good introduction of the food and the nice...presentation.More
We booked a table for 2 and was hoping to have a nice evening to remember. We are both Japanese food lovers and connaisseurs (also japanese fusion). The bad, impolite attitude and lack of service has erased any possibility of a good memory.
We booked...through The Fork, where it clearly wrote that we had 20% off on certain items on the menu. We got 3 emails about this rebate, where it said 20% black on white. But once we asked what we could eat from the menu that included this rebate, we were shamed by the manager, who was also waiting, that there was no such rebate on saturdays. As much as we insisted what the email wrote, he couldn't care less. It was already 8pm, so we knew our chances of finding a new restaurant were slim. We decided to stay and eat. Our orders were mixed up and we got served the wrong maki. At the end we asked to cancel the last dish, as we were already served many. The first waiter received our cancellation, but then 10min later the manager came with our dish and told us that we couldn't cancel it. We said that we couldn't eat more, because we got the wrong maki - which we ate, as it's fusion and similar to what we ordered, we couldn't tell the difference.
He couldn't care less, he said that we should take it with us.
Besides this attitude, when my husband asked to have a vodka & coke - because he doesn't like sour and all the cocktails they have are sour, he got shamed for asking a simple drink and the manager came back back with a yuzu cocktail, which he insisted wasn't sour and made him taste it. It was sour - as yuzu is a citrus fruit. He finally came back with the drink my husband asked for, and as if making us a favour, said the yuzu drink was on the house?
I am sad and regret big time to have picked Damindra to celebrate a special day. The bad service, and the shaming we received is now engraved in my memory, and I can't recommend this place at all. The lobster was fine, but the makis were big with too much rice and drenched in sauce. Seriously, Copenhagen is full of other restaurants to pick from, within this price range, and restaurants that are proud of serving customers.More
Was having a drink at the Hotel D’Angleterre and overheard a couple talking about Damindra’s sushi around the corner. So I headed for Damindra otherwise it would have been a burger. Bla. Due to the corona virus most places were not full as I am...told Damindra is usually busy! Arrived 7pm on a Thursday night and got an excellent table! The waiter let me sample various Japanese bourbons and finally picked one and picked the fixed menu and all 6 courses were delicious! Lotsa raw fish that was simply delicious! Service was outstanding and presentation outstanding and cannot wait to return. Pictures speak for themselves. At the end of the night the waiter enjoyed that I ate everything he brought to the table and I gave him a big hug! I asked him his name and it was Demindra!!LOLMore
I like the flower arrangements in the restaurant with the cool painting on the wall! The food has very fresh local ingredients presented with passion and creativity! But, it is indeed no where close to the traditional Japanese food I know. The staff are too...busy running around doing their jobs that I felt too much waiting. For me, the best part is the cocktail drink I had which was recommended by the staff! Very refreshing and tasty!More
Went there last week on Saturday. The place was totally full but the atmosphere was comfortable and we had plenty of privacy. We went for the whole tasting menu, which I might suggest to have better for lunch (we went for dinner) unless you plan...to go have some dancing before going to sleep. The food was delicious, with a couple of tasteful surprises and flavours we didn't expect. They also have a very decent wine menu. Remarks: Mr Damindra was very polite and explained very nicely what we where having. The chef in charge of the sushi was extremely careful and super clean. And the sumiller had a wide knowledge that lead to a nice chat. Great experience!More

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Please let us know what we can improve next time to get 5-Star review from you!
If you’re looking for Japanese or Japanese-inspired excellence, head to stylish Damindra right now. A time-honored Copenhagen favorite, Damindra serves up perfection such as you normally have to go to Japan to experience. The genial Mr Damindra runs a tight ship and makes sure that...every morsel that makes it onto your plate is worth it. We had the tasting menu which takes you from sushi (like you haven’t had it before) to sizzling sashimi of the highest caliber, toban-yaki, divine rolls with unheard-of dressing/tare and luscious desserts that are none too sweet. Damindra is divine balance and probably at its peak now. As a customer of 10 years, that’s a promise and an invitation. If like us you’re into sake, you’ll find a solid handful of well-chosen bottles at great prices, available by the glass as well. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to Mr Damindra and his team of perfectionists for a true moment of elegance and refinement. It was a true composition of soul-nourishing divinity through food and drink.More
