We visited this bar/restaurant at the recommendation of the desk clerk in our hotel and loved it. It is a traditional Danish bar/eatery down a side street from the major shopping street in central Copenhagen. The service was friendly, as everywhere we have been in Copenhagen is, and the food was wonderful and, because it was traditionally Danish, generous in... More

My wife and I had a great dinner at Restaurant Skindbuksen during our recent visit to Copenhagen. The crackling skin port with purple cabbage was excellent. Atmosphere is cozy but busy with locals coming and going, and playing the piano. Service was great too. I recommend.

If you looking for Danish food, this is a good place open on Sunday's Food is a little too full of sauces and stuff so I don't think that's the best Danish restaurant in town but still ok. The place is nice and clean though and they are very friendly.

Small pub conveniantly located close to the one of the ends of Strøget. Went here for Smørrebrød on an calm Sunday afternoon (served until 17:00). Good service and friendly staff. A good variety of sandwiches to choose from, most quite simple with canned esparragus and mushrooms in stead of fresh veggies which was a bit dissapointing. The tartare on Danish... More

We arrived hungry and after freshening, we took the Metro into the old town. This was just the type of eatery we were seeking. It looked like an old pub and it was. It was decorated by old sketches and photos. The food was excellent, the wine tasty, and the piano playing was lovely. I thought the staff and service... More

We came first for lunch, directed by our hotel when we asked for a recommendation for traditional Danish food, and liked it so much we returned for dinner. It's a pub style restaurant, fairly small, dark wood tables with bench seats, old style bar, pictures covering the walls, a piano player, friendly wait staff - the real deal. For lunch... More

Food was 6/7 out of 10 but the atmosphere was a 9........ everyone was so friendly, and there was a pianist playing numbers by the Beatles, Stones etc....it was great. We really liked the starter of Herring 3 ways, but were a bit underwhelmed by the mains. Nonetheless I would definitely return if I returned to Copenhagen.

A few months ago I wrote about a traditional restaurant in the same street, they har lost some of the atmosphere, so I decided to try this one - the next door neighbor. I had the pleasure of the Company of my nephew, his son and his wife, Amalie who is a seriously able Cook/Chef and writer of cookbooks. They... More

We were searching for something that was open a Sunday and stumbled across this little gem. Friendly staff, hearty meals, and cold beer on tap; all from a 1700's pub. What more do you need.

After initially being turned away without a reservation, my friend persevered and we managed to get a small table after a last-minute reservation cancellation. Very small yet cosy inside, the tables are crammed together and the menu adequate enough for anyone looking to sample the famous Danish smørrebrød for the first time. Food was simple but nice (which is what... More
