Authentic and French Crunchy duck sandwich Delicious salad with fresh tuna Spot on crème brûlée ♥️
What a great surprise - we were searching through the quartier latin of copenhagen to find a non-tourist trap restaurant and finally ended at l’Education Nationale ! A truly French cuisine including French service! We had the veal chops in mushroom sauce with pilled gratines...(a day speciale) and it was just delicious !More
The seafood platter was poor. The crab was mush as where the prawns and langoustine shellfish. Service was ok. Sat outside it was also ruined by the people smoking (not the owner fault) I could not wait to leave. Very expensive for what we had.
Hi, I wanted to let you know that it is not okay to treat your patrons the way that my friend and I were treated. I was so disturbed by the service and level of food quality. I believe in supporting local and independent restaurants,...but I cannot allow others to fall into the same trap that I did. The waitress was extremely emotionless to us. When asking for recommendations, she appeared indifferent to the menu itself and offered minimal effort to explain the dishes. In terms of the food - It was plated beautifully but was extremely disappointing. I ordered the mussels and fries. As I am writing this, I feel disturbed by what I had to eat. A portion of the mussels were gray and overcooked. Even worse, the “sauce” was water and oil. THERE WAS NO FLAVOR. It was truly the worst meal that I have ever had at a restaurant. My friend ordered the “steak tartare”. He had two bites and almost threw up. The meat was flavorless and the cut was equivalent to uncooked ground beef. We have had many great meals in Copenhagen, but this is one place to stay away from if you would like to have a pleasant and fulfilling experienceMore
A wonderfully authentic French meal, in a friendly brasserie. We shared 2 moules marinere between 5 to start and then had 5 different mains; every main was beautifully cooked, full of flavour and well presented. The bread for the table was fresh and delicious with...salted butter and perfect for mopping up the moules juices. A really lovely, relaxed experience. Also, the excellent French waiter who served us deserves a mention; outstanding service.More
Again a 5 for me. I’m not a picky person when it comes to food so my reviews will mostly be positive. This little gem the snails. Oh lord. The rib eye with the bernaise sauce the best I’ve had. (I know I say it...a lot ) but in different countries. Go visit. It’s worth your time and money.More
Cozy restaurant with a nice atmosphere but the food is poor. Could it be just our food…? No. Especially the main courses were badly cooked and poorly presented. Three small flies kept us company at the table.
i had been twice in a month at this place an sat near to the kitchen tables and there was a same waitress with glass who is very irritating and noisy, there was a black and asian looks (may be from india ) guys in...the kitchen . he is also not respectful to the kitchen staff.More
This fantastic restaurant is superb, friendly staff and wonderful ambience.. We arrived around 9.30pm and the restaurant was very quiet. We both ordered the Ribeye steak with fries. The meat was exceptional, perfectly seasoned , and the fries were cooked perfectly. The béarnaise was the...best I’ve ever tasted. We had champagne to drink that was super dry. I would certainly visit here on my next trip to Copenhagen.More
I can’t pass French restaurant anywhere I travel because I value French cooking and the food. But not always a success. Here, I feel like I was still in France where I was ten days ago. I was in Paris with a Parisienne food lover-...the rest is self-explanatory ;) The ambiance is easy and simple and also warm and cozy perfect for a wet, cold evening in Copenhagen. Very French bistro with an air of extra warmth! The menu is prepared thoughtfully without being overwhelming. My two visits, I had escargot, root vegetables with rabbit, Dover sole and beef( entrecôte ) that had such flavor and perfect texture- let's say that it was far better than your average wagyu beef, salad, and a textbook-perfect creme brûlée. What’s more, is that I am not a wine drinker but understand the wine a little; the wine selection was superb! What I ordered was so heavenly that I took a picture of the bottle. ( pictured here) Cheers! 🍷🍷 Of course, the owner and staff were attentive and respectful, just right! Plus to the experience! Copenhagen offers an amazing array of food, but if you miss this, you will be sorry... I went back to try one more time, and it was absolutely the best last meal in Copenhagen.More
Good variety, but not too much. My colleagues had a hard time choosing between the very delicious looking dishes. Plate d’jour was Wild Boar. Really good.
Great food: gorgious plateau de fruits de mer ( with exception of a frozen lobster) , tasty meat, good wine, good dessert. A cozy place. Appropriate and kind bistrò service. Value for money.
Cosy place with interesting surroundings. However, the service is slightly snobbish. I have been there a few times and twice I´ve had the big seashell plate and both times the crab meet were smushed into crab-can alike meat. The mussels were overcooked and in generel...it was terrible and not tasty at all. Only the oysters were fine.More
We ordered Moules and a fish with moules sauce. The fish was delicious (and it can be for more than 250 DKK) and the moules was ok but not very good (145 DKK, which is expensive for a standard moules). Service is very pleasant and...effective. As French, I would not call this a bistro, which is normally cheaper and quite straight forward dishes (like moules but not the fish dish and its advanced composition)More
Danish friends invited us to l'Education Nationale for dinner and we were pleasently surprised. Some 40 years ago this was Copenhagen's seedy red-light district, but now it has been totally transformed into a friendly Danish version of the Left Bank in Paris, with cafés, small...restaurants and trendy shops. L'Education Nationale fully fits the picture. With long sofas, crowded atmosphere, posters and funny signs it's more French than any bistro in France. Most of the waiters even speak only French (but they're very un-French by being polite to customers). Food is very good, without being high cuisine. We tried various starters which were very decent. For main course we had rabbit, which was high class, superb moules frites (some of the best mussels we ever ate) and a very decent entrecôte. Price level isn't low, but perfectly tolerable.More
