This was probably the best meal I had in Copenhagen. We came at the suggestion of a friend and certainly weren't disappointed. The food was very well-presented and tasty (and higher-end as far as menus go) but at a very reasonable price (at least by the standards of Copenhagen, where you could certainly pay a lot more for a lot... We ate at this restaurant following a recommendation from my partner who'd enjoyed a meal here a few years ago. Wow! This place didn't disappoint. The food was absolutely incredible, one of the best steaks I'd ever had! Pricing of food no different from other places in Copenhagen, an expensive city - but this meal was well worth the money,... Place seemed to be full all the evening. Good service they had two big groups at the same time. Interesting location I'm Christiania. Very delicious food. Enjoyed! Definitely recommend!

This restaurant was recommended to us with the warning, it's hard to find. That is an understatement. You have to walk into a park (full of old hippies) and keep an eye peeled for a sign on a door; then go upstairs (very sketchy looking). Once inside it's a nice place, pleasant atmosphere, good service and very good food.

Delicious food and reasonable price in a special atmosphere. A hidden nice place in Christiania, a lovely and cozy room. I got fish wich was fresh and tasty. Even the wine list was fantastic. I strongly recommend it!!

loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, hiring all the staff from the people living in the free city of Christiania, loved the food, everything was fresh, organic and super tasty, and the service was great, definatly will eat again there :)

The exterior and entrance look like a squatters building, but persevere! This is a very nice restaurant. The meals definitely more refined than pub food.

We were recommended to this place by another restaurant in Christiania which was closing itself for the day. The entrance would put off cautious people unless you knew it was great once you were inside. It is through a door half way along the building and fully graffitied. But go up the stairs and it opens into a lovely space.... More

Really unusual area, we later found out this is completely independent from Copenhagen and even has its own mayor. From the outside you will think where the hell am I! But when you get inside this restaurant you will be welcomed by friendly staff and excellent simplistic quality food.

For many years this has been our favorite restaurant in town. Great food, good service and a very atmospheric ambiance in an old army barrack building just off the entrance to Christiania. Lovely (but not inexpensive).

Staying in Christianshavn

Neighborhood Profile
Just across one of the many bridges from Indre By, you’ll find Christianshavn. An eclectic area with old brick lanes, houses dating back to the 16th century, and canals which are home to many boats and ships, some of which has been turned into restaurants or even serve as fully furnished homes. The best known attraction in Chistianshavn is Christiania, a “free town” of residents who squat on a former military area. However just a stone’s throw away from Christiania, you’ll find some of the most fashionable waterfront apartment buildings in Copenhagen as well as the splendid Royal Opera House.
