On way back from Mermaid Park, we stopped in at this very nice cafe! We had a light meal but menu was extensive! Clean, good service and we only waited few minutes to be seated. We also had good tea and sweets. Very pretty decorated...More
it just really oozes of 'Danish'. Aside from the obvious lunch, you should for example also look at the cutlery and plates. They are from a special Danish cultural place that almost has been forgotten. Cliff-hanger enough? Go for it.
It had been a while since I last visited, but fortunately nothing has changed. Food is still of great quality and the service is very good as well as fast.
Highly recommendable if you want some traditional danish food for lunch.
This cute little restaurant is tucked just behind the Amelienborg Palace. Our server, Cecilia, was so friendly and guided us through the menu. She explained how the lunches were traditionally served and helped us make the best choices. The food was also delicious. Beautiful presentation...More
Me and my friends eat an amazing danish Christmas lunch at Café Toldboden!

The restaurant offers some of the best traditional Danish foods we had while in Copenhagen recently. We had a few smorrebrod, all excellent. I had the plate of three different preparations of herring, with aquavit of course, and was very pleased. The service is exceptional,...More
Wandering from or to the Little Mermaid (I think), and came upon this hidden gem. Not far from our hotel Sangkt Annae or the Palace. Only one other customer when we entered. The waiter, Peter, was warm and friendly and seated us by the window....More

We had a chance to make a visit in Cafe Toldboden during our bussines trip to Copenhagen and we left this place re-energized and happy. The food we were served was a miracle - we kept on wondering how something on you plate can look,...More
Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and placed at a beautiful window-side table in the corner. The decor was very warm and welcoming. We were told it used to be an old sailors' bar so there were old photos of ships accompanied with other old...More
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding
neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.
