This place was fantastic! The smushi sandwiches were very tasty and the dessert was amazing. Loved the fun atmosphere...lots to look at while you are eating. Check it out!

Charming, quirky, pretty cafe offering beautifully presented smorrebrød (Danish open sandwiches) with a modern twist, hence the name "Smushi" they use for these little delights. Prices are high though and I'm always shocked after I've been presented with the bill. This weekend we stopped in for a late lunch (2 of us), we had 3 of the little Smushi each,... More

Yummy sandwiches, soup, salads, desserts, coffee and tea served on various patterns of beautiful Royal Copenhagen china. Very friendly service in a casual setting, designed with tongue-in-cheek hipness. Lovely courtyard open in warmer weather, too, in the middle of shopping area.

If you are looking for a small, cosy cafe in the centre of Copenhagen, search no further and visit The Royal Cafe. This is the ideal place for taking a break from the hustle and bustle of Strøget and enjoy your coffee or tea served in Royal Copenhagen porcelain. This is just so much better than what other nearby cafes... More

This is definitely a must visit in Copenhagen when you go. The food is truly Danish and very good. Coupled with the Danish design elements it is a must see Danish cafe.

So this is it.. The smushis, between a sushi and a smørrebrød, it looks very nice on the place and the setting/location is great. But I find it rather disappointing when the taste does not match the look.. It lacked seasoning and flavour.

I make a point of trying to visit the Royal Café every time I'm in Copenhagen. I love the interesting decor, mismatched Royal Copenhagen china, and the delicious food. Hot chocolate and pastries are wonderful choices in wintertime. Smushis and salads are good around the year. Smushi is a small danish open sandwich "smörrebröd". You could say it ressembles a... On our 5th and last day in Copenhagen we had lunch at The Royal Cafe, which we found by accident. It is tucked down a bit of an alleyway and the outdoor garden seating (at least in summer) is charming. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. I was only sorry we didn't have room for the fabulous... More

I have been to Copenhagen 3 times and have been to the Royal Cafe twice now. It grabbed my attention the first time and drew me back. I like the fact you have to go through a little courtyard to get to it and its small, cosy atmosphere and magical Alice-in-Wonderland like quality. Try and sit in the back at... More
