Beautiful setting, right on Nyhavn Canal

We stopped here because it was right on the canal, and had a seafood menu. The Herring dish I ordered was an excellent snack, with herring three ways. The dish of the day seemed to be steamed mussels, which looked wonderful. Great view, good service, and good food!

Seriously, if you want great food or great value don't eat in a tourist area like Nyhavn. Alternatively if you want to soak up the atmosphere grab a table, a beer (Tuborg in my case) or wine and some chips as a side to nibble on. Service was good, atmosphere great and cost will not break the bank! On what... More

It wasn't the best restaurant but.... if you like sea food and you are aware of the fact that all restaurants in Denmark are expensive - give them a try. We had oysters, herrings, fish soup, mussles and a bottle of wine. There was a delay with bringing bread - otherwise the service was good. People who leave bad reviews... More

Food was excellent here! French inspired, right next to the canal in Nyhavn. Talented street bands, great views. You must sit outside!

We had eaten here before and in times past the food was much better. The fish and chips portion was small and not moist as it should be. The beer was cold but very high priced at $9 US for a pint. Denmark is a lovely place, very clean but to me the downfall is going to be the high... More

Stopped here for a bite to eat. I enjoyed the seafood but my wife was less than impressed with her lamb dish. Attentive service. Poor toilets. Prices reasonable.

Overpriced food and drink. An iced lemon tea was 42 DKK which was just opened from a Nestea 50cl bottle.

We visited Havefruen three times during a recent stay in Copenhagen. It's situated in the middle of the row of waterfront restaurants in Nyhavn. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and all spoke English well. We tried the fish and chips which were very good. The fish comes sliced into sections. On another visit we had... More

There are what seems like dozens of places to eat in this area so you definitely have many to chose from that have good food. We stopped here for the seafood. The mussels were great and we got a HUGE bowl of them. The fish and chips were also very good. Great place to sit back and enjoy some seafood... More

We got the fish soup for starters and entrecôte and plaice for mains. The fish soup was ok, the entrecôte was well done (even though I asked for medium) but tasted well...but the plaice was the most bland fish we remember ever tasting! Service was a bit slow...and it's expensive, even by Danish standards
