Trust me, I know my burgers. I like them in many shapes and many forms. I like the large ones, with cheese dripping down. The smaller ones with special sauce and the gourmet ones with truffles and hints of chocolate notes. I can easily eat...a McD burger or a BK one. Not s problem for me. But I know my burgers. And I know where to buy again. Because the entire point for me to visit a cafe or a restaurant is to gain an experience. I want decor, maybe music. I want service above the usual "here ya go" and I want a nice dining experience. At cafe Solo, I got everything at once. I usually get a bit annoyed when I have to pay x amount of money for a so-so burger, but not here. Greeted by the owner, one big happy smile, we were seated in a nice dining room type of area. She was very happy to be serving us, clearly, and spent a couple amount of time telling us about several of her special brews, one of them she was the only one in Denmark to sell. We decided what to eat and the wait was short. Pleasant. The burger. 250 grams of quality meat, a decent amount of cheese, a sesame bun and pickled onions. No frills, no weird tasting sauce, no burned bun or overcooked meat. It is by far one of the best burgers I have had for many years. The size of the meat and the bun was perfect, the hard roast of the meat was expertedly done and the only minus I could think of, is that I could use more fries. But hey I wasn't there for them. All in all a very positive experience and we will most definitely return soon. PS. The Gouden Carolus is a must try for any beer connoisseur.More
